Agent Carter Agent Carter General Discussion Thread - Part 1

From Hayley's twitter

Chris is in L.A. and shaved his beard off. Coincidence? :word:

His brother Scott also updated a status message last week saying he's "at the gym with his personal trainer, "Captain America" today"

Interview with Michelle Fazekas about what to expect in the series

So how exactly does this series connect up with the one-shot that was on the Iron Man 3 DVD?
The way we look at it, the end of the one shot is she gets called from Howard Stark saying, "Hey I want you to go run SHIELD." So in our mind that's sort of the last thing that would ever happen in the Agent Carter series. You will never see her going off to run SHIELD in this show. That will be the last thing that happens at the very end of the series.

Huh, interesting way of looking at it. Guess that clears up the one-shot's relation to this one

Cool interview, my favorite part of it though was this gif:

I kept thinking, "Peggy's skipping and dancing"!

Also, pretty awesome that they asked the question that resulted in the Eric Carroll answer. I absolutely LOVE that Marvel sent a guy whose sole job is to keep all MCU canon in line. You know there would have to be but nice to have confirmation.

So there will never be any decade jumping in this show then? But it will all take place in 1946 since the one shot took place then? That's a long time to have to spend on just one year. Of course, 24 spent a whole season on just one day.

I think they will jump if they get a second season.. for now i think they are only sure of this one .. thats a good point about 24.. peggy carter tackles sexism, leviathan, hydra, and finds howard's gizmos all in one day once she finds his teleporter

How can they decade jump though if the very end of the series has been stated to be when Peggy joins SHIELD at the end of the One Shot, which was still in 1946? You can't even year jump, let alone decade jump. The entire series, however many seasons it runs for, has to be set in 1946.

I think by having that limitation they have written themselves into a corner.

This is a mini-series that can spawn a regular running series that consists of post 1946 stories. I don't see why this would be an issue. The One Shot is only the conclusion of this mini series.

To be exact this part of the series starts on June 24th 1946 according to the first news paper you see in the first show. (I'm working on a SSR/Shield timeline)

You don't, 1946 isn't over yet on the series, and so far it's been two shows and about as many days (maybe three days). I'm assuming these first 8 shows we get end up at the one-shot, and the next set would be the first AFTER she leaves the SSR.

I don't quite agree with that. It can still be called Agent Carter as she Howard, and what's left of the Howling commandos start Shield.

But they're talking about her joining SHIELD at the very end of the series, not just the end of this season.

I don't agree that the first couple of episodes happened the way that it was shown on TV. :p

Pardon? That was from the producer's mouth.
I'm not saying he's lying, just that it doesn't HAVE to change names just because she Joins/Starts SHIELD

But they're talking about her joining SHIELD at the very end of the series, not just the end of this season.
then THAT part they need to change in the one-shot because of the date, unless they DO ignore the one-shot completely

I THOUGHT I had found an earlier date than 1946. the Racing Journal has a date of Sept. 2, 1945. VE-Day happens on May 8th 1945 preceding that and Cap disappearing, THAT way there's a whole lot of time to play with, but, the newspaper in the first episode's dated june 24th 1946
