Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - 3x08 - "Many Heads, One Tale" - Discussion Thread

This was fantastic. The quinjet takeoff was awesome.

They tied all of the side stories together pretty cohesively. I think someone pointed out before that the holes in the Monolith might have been man made and we have confirmation that pieces were extracted for study.

Hunter with his hacker disguise and then the typing got a good laugh out of me. The wrist gauntlets that recalls Bobbi's weapons was pretty cool, but what a waste of Dacascas.

I think the biggest surprise was that Banks was a good guy. Yeah, he's the loyal right hand, but he has that look.

The silver bulletproof tray aside, this fight was great and the torturing of the goons was his way of testing their loyalty while extracting the info he was looking for.

Ward enjoys what he does and is ruthless. That torture with the burner and his exit from the plane were over the edge.

That reveal with the Hydra logo at the end was pretty neat. They still acknowledge that Hydra was a creation of Red Skull although the newer version of the cult that it was birthed from. Plus Ward's face when Gideon revealed what Hydra really is was priceless.

Fitz finally going for it the kiss even if it was in the heat of the moment.

Watched it tonight finally after getting back from vacation. Another great episode.

I like how if you look at every episode thread this season someone is saying "I can't believe they revealed that so soon". It has been pretty rapid fire from the get go this year and I am going to hate the break coming up. Agent Carter will help some though and I have to start Jessica Jones too. :)

To quote the Bard: "THIS!" (I'm sure he must have used that word at some point.)

I'm not convinced that Price isn't Hydra. The way she spoke to Malick and then then way that it all went down with her spilling the beans to Coulson about Malick. Its possible she was taking advantage of the situation to gain his trust. That is what it sounded like her intention was when she spoke to Malick on the phone. The whole point of her character is that she is a super spy and Coulson's equal in playing the game. To suddenly reveal that she is just a pawn? Maybe, maybe not.

Well, you're free to believe whatever you want, but this episode was designed precisely to answer once and for all whether Rosalind was trustable or not. Yes, her talk with Malick on the phone did make us think that she lied about bringing Coulson to meet the president, but then we find out this episode that Malick's a presidential advisor, so it makes sense that she was arranging that meeting through Malick, thus solving the doubt her phone call to Malick brought.

Jed and Maurissa sheds "some" light on Rosalind - among other things.

Link!

The Rosalind part:
Can we trust Rosalind now? Or is that still up in the air?
MT: We’re leaving it up to the audience. In this moment, she's proven herself trustworthy.
JW: Right. How complicated that will get, and whether or not that will put her in a dangerous position is yet to be seen. But, what we see in that episode is that she’s on our side, as is her right-hand man, Banks. So, moving forward, we’ll see what they’re able to achieve with the fact that they’re working for the organization that has Hydra right at the top of it.

That means for once, S.H.I.E.L.D. will have a mole within Hydra.
JW: Right. That’s one of the things that going forward one would assume, we would have an opportunity to maybe get one up on Mallick and Ward because of that.

SHIELD having people working within a Hydra group for once and not the other way around. Interesting.

Well, I'm sure she still has secrets, maybe even an agenda, that we've yet to learn - heck, we don't even know if Rosalind is her real name yet - but I think as far as Malick and HYDRA's plot to bring back the Ancient Inhuman goes she's trustworthy, otherwise it defeats the purpose of 3x08.

Looks like you were correct. I wasn't saying that i thought she was Hydra, just that i wasn't convinced. But i think you phrased that in an interesting way, that the episode was designed to answer the question. Sometimes you just have take things at face value.

Another good episode, this season has been really good. Looks like the UK will catching up to the US soon.
