Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Spin-Off Show In The Works

What no Deathlok TV series?

Avengers Academy?

Could use some stored blood acquired from Cap after he was found and right up to but before The Winter Soldier movie so Hydra may be using them to create new super soldiers but someone maybe Cal has acquired some and modified it to create a improved formulae for himself at the cost of the people he's using to fine tune it?

IDK that I'd consider Agent Carter a "spinoff" of AOS. If anything, it's more of a sequel/spinoff of Captain America: TFA.

Agents of Sword. Gonzales gets his own team. To fight off aliens.

I was actually wondering if on the show eventually the two SHIELDs would break off where Gonzalez was SHIELD and Coulson and his group ran SWORD.

Either could make some sense.

No. If anyone should lead SWORD, then it should be Abigail Brand. That's her thing and she's just awesome.

Could be a gradual thing, but I get what you're saying.

You'd have to think she'd be introduced in SHIELD this season if they were to start a SWORD show for September.

And yes, the rumors say this show would run alongside SHIELD in September, not take the mid-season run like Carter did.

G'day,

Nuhumans. Remember the episode were Lady Sif turned up and that Kree fellow? It ended with a box of diviners disappearing. According to the Kree fellow there were enough to "create an army" . There will be something like the terragenesis bomb that will release the mist into the community. Lots of ordinary people will be transformed. The series will be their story.

Could be cool, but I don't want it to take thunder from the Inhumans movie.

You could tie in something like that with SWORD potentially?

Jed Wheddon has said they can't do SWORD right now. So i'm wondering if SWORD will be introduced in Captain Marvel.

I'd like this. If it's being planned for next year, it makes sense that they'd want a bunch of superhumans running around prior to Civil War.

Personally, I'd like the Inhumans series to be more akin to the X-Men, showing the fear and prejudice directed at the Inhumans and dealing with how both the government and the existing Inhuman civilization deals with these transformations. I'd like to see it as a political thriller with superhumans.

Start off slow. Show how people's friends and families turn on them after the transformation. Then people start abusing their powers, committing small crimes. From there, we see gangs of normal humans murdering Inhumans in the street. And toward the end of the season, we see the Civil War and the Registration Act.

Edit: Also, I just realized that this will bring Marvel's TV show count up to eight. Five Netflix, three ABC. So if the MCU wasn't already big enough with its 22 movies that it will have by the end of phase 3, it's gonna have AT LEAST eight TV series as well. But given how abrupt TV series are planned, I'd say it's probably going to end up having close to a dozen.

This is exciting news, really I'll take as much weekly MCU shows as they want to give me. Really liking a lot of the ideas being thrown around in here as well

I feel like this announcement doesn't bode well for an Agent Carter renewal.

Agent Carter wasn't up for renewal, in the first place. It was a limited run miniseries, that *could* get a sequel miniseries. It not getting a sequel doesn't mean it "didn't get renewed", because there was never the expectation of indefinite continuation in the first place.

That said, I think the best spin-off show idea would be precisely that: a mini-series to fill the winter break of Agents of SHIELD.

If Marvel does an Inhuman show that focuses on powered folks that could be a huge hit for them considering most people tuned out of SHIELD since they thought it was going to have tons of super powers (and yes those people expecting that were idiots).

They could do both .Even with the numbers it gets it still does better with M18-48 better than anything else on the network .

A 2 hour MCU block Tues 9-11 ? The numbers are not spectacular same day but 2.9 +7 seems to be ticking the boxes for what they are after .If the M18-48 collapses after SHIELD as they roll another nightime soapy faux procedural they might see doing a block being worth it .

My first thought seeing the news was Inhumans. Might take a little away from what's made this season better tho. Oh well, I guess they'll still have the "science experiments."

Entertainment Weekly reports that Marvel and ABC are planning to launch another series featuring characters first introduced in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Which characters? No idea, as all plot details etc are still under wraps, but we do know that S.H.I.E.L.D exec producer Jeffrey Bell (Angel, The X-Files) and series writer Paul Zbyszewski (Lost) are involved. Plus, apparently some story elements that are still to come on S.H.I.E.L.D. this year will be used to "lay the groundwork for the potential new series".

Wha!? Awesome news! There has been a lot of MCU stuff dropping today, just getting caught up with it all. This was out of the blue, wasn't it! Sweet.

Lots of great ideas in here so far, and there are so many ways this can go. My first thought was Deathlok, probably because he's fresh on my mind after his recent appearance. The Speedball/New Warriors idea is a good, but so is SWORD... gahh! so many great ideas. I can't wait to get some word about what direction they're going in so we can really start to connect some dots.

For obvious reasons, I love this idea:
Lady Sif & The Warriors Three.
But I'm doubtful that would be it.

Same here. God I hope I am wrong, and Agent Carter gets more episodes. I love it so.

I don't think this news has much of a bearing on Agent Carter. I think they still look at Agent Carter as that bridge between the first and second halves of AoS. Personally, I'd like to see a summer series. Keep the MCU nearly all year.

I could see the SHIELD spinoff being a summer series to keep the fires burning, so to speak.

if the spinoff is not Inhumans related i'll be shocked.

storywise its the concept that has the most to tell. also it looks like Marvel is borrowing a page from WB/DC this time (about high time too). given that Arrow is the "serious/ realistic show", the Flash ended up where all the fantastical elements happen.

so Arrow= AoS, Flash= AoS spinoff show.

makes sense to me

I feel like this announcement doesn't bode well for an Agent Carter renewal.

yeahhh :( Cooper moving onto Preacher might be a career move but could also be an indicator about the renewal state of that series. personally i would LOVE to have a continuous Agent Carter mid-season series. idk what Marvel/ ABC was expecting from its numbers.

Powers is a marvel show but it's from PlayStation Network.

While I hope they don't do this because of the Flash, there's a logic to 8-10 because the lead-in to Agents of SHIELD has been God-Awful. Or maybe the show that currently airs after could start the block followed by the two Marvel shows. Dunno.

As for the show itself, it needs to present itself as being different from Agents of SHIELD. That'll be the biggest challenge, particular on a TV budget. Agent Carter had the different time period to help it out.

G'day,

Exactly. I ave been saying this for some time. The Inhumans are the MCU's X-Men substitutes, being outcasts is a part of that.

But theres more. Gonzales real SHIELD will become HAMMER and screw down hard on the powered. They will implement the Registration Act. Remember the comics Civil War didn't end well for the Cap, he got arrested and eventually killed. I'm not expecting a happy ending in the Civil War movie either.

There are a lot of good ideas here. Personally, I would like to see Deathlok developed more into the cyborg from the comics, and perhaps with a separate show where the budget is primarily focused on that character they could afford to do the CGI necessary for his character.

Also, keep in mind while it has been confirmed the new show will be a spin off of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. it is not known if what the spin off is based on has been introduced into the show yet. It may be something still up and coming.
