Rogue One All the Easter Eggs and References (Spoilers)

I love how they used extra footage from ANH for cockpit shots of the battle in the end to tie in the same 'pilots'.

I had to do a double-take with that. It's seamlessly woven in with the new shots of the pilots.

Also, one of the other plans Jyn mentions in the archive room is called "black saber". I thought that might be a nod to the dark saber.

Oh God I shouted at the sight of Red Leader. I was the only one in the theater. I took my whole department from work to the movie as a bit of a year end treat, and the guy next to me had no clue what I was reacting to. Lol.

I think I caught everything but the Ghost was reportedly on Yavin 4.

Not only was General Dodonna there, but I found out after the fact that he was played by Barristan Selmy from Game of Thrones.

The Rebels escaping aboard the Tantive IV ship with Leia in hyperspace from a very angry Darth Vader. OMG!!!!!

Vader's Castle on Mustafar

Vader in a bacta tank just like his son will in Empire strikes back

"I've Got a Bad feeling about this" references by K-2SO

Bail Organa reprised by Jimmy Smits

C-3po & R2-D2 appearance on Yavin 4

Tarkin

The X-wing pilots from A New Hope

The Force Theme & Imperial March

Obi-Wan references

Loved seeing Mustafar again!

I thought it looked a lot better here than in Revenge of the Sith. The way the vista looked from the windows of Vader's castle was beautiful. It makes me wish for a Disney-era version of the "duel at the volcano".

The Imperial transport that Cassian rescued Jyn from in the beginning....wasn't it basically a repurposed Republic juggernaut tank from the Clone Wars?

I think you're right. I smiled when I saw it.

I liked the ROTS version more, but bear in mind, that wasn't the whole planet lol. There's something very symbolic about Vader making his home the place where he suffered his greatest defeat.

Yep. That and Mustafar were nice nods to the PT.

Liked seeing the Ghost in the battle above Scarrif. Glad to know the Ghost is still in the Rebellion at the time of ANH.

After the end of Rogue One, can you imagine if they CGI'd young Harrison Ford's face over the actor chosen to play a younger version in the upcoming stand alone movie?

Now we know the fate of Star Wars Rebels, but I wonder if not everyone has made it to Rogue One.

When did they make a reference to obi wan? Is it when organa says something about trusting his life? I didn't catch what he said because of this couple next to me talking

Anakin's char-grilled body, as well. Yes, I know they couldn't have chosen a different design as is, but they still could've just not shown it at all.

Yep, Bail's talking about sending someone to pick up an old ally (Obi-Wan), and Mothma says she hopes he has someone in mind that he trusts. He says "I would trust her with my life" (Leia).

Speaking of the Imperial work camp, I loved the way those stormtroopers sat in that transport. They looked defeated and bored.

Two stormtroopers were talking about a T-15 blaster model being retired because it was obsolete (right before Baze attacks them on the beach). The two stormtroopers near Ben when he was disabling the tractor beam in ANH were talking about the new version.

Don't you mean aircraft? As in T-16 Skyhopper?

Did anyone else think they heard Freddie Prince Jr. aka Kanan as one of the background voices on Yavin? Could very well be my imagination.

So yeah DarkSaber was one of the project names.. reference to the book. What about any of those other projects?
