Not really. He isn't using the gun as, well, a gun.
 
I'm worried that the next solo Superman movie after BvS and JL will be the Death of Superman. I wouldn't mind seeing that but not too early. Say nine years from now. The effect won't be as dramatic when Superman dies because BvS is well, about Batman and Superman which seems to be the focus. JL will be ensemble...then Doomsday in the second standalone Superman movie? Nope, just wouldn't be right. I mean, you gotta to establish Superman and the villians. Zod and Luthor aren't enough. Metallo, Bizarro, Brainiac has stage 2, one of those guys. The next step after that should be darker yet ultimate, but every ine should involve Luthor. Darkseid should be among the darkest.

Darkseid should be in at least a third or fourth Superman movie then return in a Justice League sequel so hopefully you can have that moment where Superman cuts loose and beats Darkseid.

I doubt it, maybe something for Suicide Squad, but I doubt we'll see anything for BvS.

I'm not ruling it out but after the big weekend we just had, I can't foresee it.

I think as far as BM v SM goes, we might not get anything additional until SDCC.

No. His enemies use guns to hurt people. Batman uses it as a tool to get across a gap that's too far for his usual grappling gun. Big difference.

I doubt anything on the BvS side but hoping for some other DC related news.

Theres plenty wrong with Miller's Batman in a moral standpoint, that's why I hate all the prattle from Superman fans as if Miller made Batman into some huge badass and Superman into a political puppet dork. Miller intentionally made Batman into an exaggerated freakish nightmare version of himself where all his morals were warped thanks to the state of world.

But in answer to your question, Batman has always been a hypocrite for retrofitting guns into pellet guns, rubber bullets, concussion rifles etc etc. :funny:

I feel like I keep seeing some people reacting to the portrayal of Superman as though they think the character himself is being shown to be acting in a dark or negative way, and I'm not sure I understand that interpretation. To me, it seems pretty clear that what we're seeing is human beings being forced to reckon with the reality of a being of Superman's power being among them, and the confusion and wildly mixed reactions that would inevitably bring. I think what we see of Superman, he looks mostly confused and upset, and my inner hope is that meeting Batman, WW, Aquaman, etc. will ultimately serve to help him find his place in this world and where he fits in - though it may take a challenging path to get there. It seems like a continuation of ideas that were introduced (to varying degrees of success) in MoS, and actually gives me hope that Snyder & co. heard and considered the valid criticisms of that film when putting this one together. I hope so, anyway, as to me MoS was a mixed bag of some great ideas and portrayals that got muddled by trying to be too many things and lost focus along the way.

Uh, that's a pretty long way of saying 'hello', so I'll stop now :yay: but thanks for all the thought provoking reading thus far!
