hey guys, i had a quick question i was hoping someone might know the answer to. regarding that BvS trailer event where we gave our emails and they said we'd get to see the film a week early...is it only one ticket per email or two tickets? thanks in advance if anyone remembers.

I doubt Batman is going to intentionally kill anyone in this movie, but I wouldn't be that surprised if he does.

It's only been 8 months. And we know that Batman has seen ostensibly incorruptible men go bad. Who's to say that Superman couldn't go the same way as Harvey Dent?

Great point, he's "one bad day" away from destroying the entire human race, as far as Batman's concerned, he's seen it happen before, and he seems to be really isolated at this point, and extremely cynical.

And if somebody showed up like that in our world today, I think we would see a similar reaction to what we've been shown in the trailers, just like every other major issue, very divisive, some folks are incredibly afraid and don't want to take the chance, some see him as a savior, some even worship him.

I love that one line, "This means something." referring to his symbol. Because, for as long as I can remember, since I was a little kid, I feel like the heroes I looked up to had an effect on my sense of morality, how I felt people should be treated. In Elementary school, one time I saw a bunch of kids in a big circle, pushing and throwing down this one girl, and I jumped in, using all my martial arts training that I learned from cartoons, movies, TMNT, Power Rangers, etc. trying to help the girl. I remember feeling really good about myself, like I had acted in a way that one of my heroes would have. So, those symbols mean something to me (for many reasons, IF I ever were to get a tattoo, the Superman or Batman logo would be the only ones I would ever feel comfortable getting, because those have stayed with me my entire life).

I love that the DC movies seem to be addressing these larger themes, like the very divisive political climate of our time, the fact that we need to set aside our differences and come together for the greater good (I remember my dad finding a worn out American flag in the wreckage in our yard after Hurricane Katrina, washing it off in the lake, and raising it on our flag pole. That was the first time that symbol of the flag has really impacted me, it meant something, it meant coming together in the face of catastrophe, to rebuild). I feel like that is the message this movie is trying to put out, that our differences don't matter in the face of a larger threat/issue.

I feel like both Batman and Superman are going to go through a lot of character development and personal growth in this movie, and I hope Civil War accomplishes the same. Character arcs like that, and speaking to larger social issues and themes, are what makes a CBM "more than just a comic book movie" imo. Using these mythological characters in a way that we relate to them, and that reflects something about our nature, are all that I ask from a CBM, and it looks like BvS might just deliver!

Sorry, didn't intend to write so much

That didn't say, but hopefully we all get a +1. I know that they did say we should expect the emails in February, so we'll find out soon!

Is he gonna heat vision the **** outta Superman's face????

I'm for that. I'm disliking Bats' position on Supes because it's based on fear of Supes' power. But power can be acquired and developed by just about anyone...not just aliens. Ultimately, humanity can be a bigger danger to itself than any one alien....given the right circumstances. Bats' biggest mistake is forgetting that.

I don't find Batman to be any more at fault than Superman here... both are focusing on one side of the other person and forget about the other... Bruce should be able to realize that Superman is here to do good from what he's been doing lately, same as we saw Clark investigating Batman, so he should have known that Batman saved countless of lives and is very important for the good of Gotham City.

But Bruce is focused on Superman's genuinely terrifying powers and the fact that he was responsible for enormous collateral damage and could likely be responsible for something like that again, even without the possibility of him just deciding to turn against the mankind one day and devastating the entire Earth in one afternoon. And Bruce, being what he is, takes that "1%" possibility very seriously. Clark is focused on Batman's "brutal" methods, failing to see a greater good that comes out of Batman's presence, so he comes to the city he's been defending for 20 years and arrogantly orders him to hang the cape.

We see Clark's idealism disdaining Batman's methods and Bruce's cynical, tactical mind planning to prevent a scenario where an alien superpowered being destroys mankind. And, even if he didn't have mitigating circumstances of just coming out of "Black Zero" event and seeing its horrors, I can understand Bruce's reasoning perfectly. If there was an overpowered, god-like being like this in our world, I'd want it out of the picture as well.

I was honestly joking about it, but that would go nicely with this quote.
"If Clark wanted, he could use his superspeed and squish me into the
cement. But I know how he thinks. Even more than the Kryptonite, he's got
one big weakness. Deep down, Clark's essentially a good person... and
deep down, I'm not."

I know what that's from, but I'm drawing a blank. Little help please?

So let me get this straight; Bruce is willing to break his "One Rule" in order to rid the world of Superman...

But he refuses to do the same thing with the guy that killed his protege and looks like this...:o:oldrazz:

Still curious as hell as to what is going on in this shot though...Is that Bruce? Is he just killing those people?

I think Lex is framing Bats by either hacking his jet or making a similar one. Eyewitnesses report that they saw Batman's jet shooting down criminals, Superman catches wind of this and confronts Batman.

Interesting thought involving Bruce's motivations.

Now I wouldn't mind a FULL red hood story element but what if we just got a sample instead. What if joker didn't kill robin, what if he drove him insane enough to try and kill batman ala under the red hood but condensed into a flash back sequence.

This would give validation to Bruce that even someone as incorruptible as the young robin can fall to evil.

We don't know that, he might've tried to kill Joker and he has been in intensive care since?

The first guy is flying and about to project fire from his eyes.

The second is brandishing a gun.

The differences are astronomical.
