I hate it how Warner Bros / DC brainwashed fans to call it "DCEU" instead of what it really is "DCCU" - DC Cinematic Universe. But of course, DC wants to separate themselves as far away from Marvel despite them copying off of them for the past 3 years.

Why does anyone care which name the franchise uses? Does anyone care? It's just a name, right?

They have nominated BVS for just about every razzie imaginable. Even 2 for best actor, plus for on screen duo. Even the people that hated BVS can recognise at least some of these are BS. Im a fan so I don't agree with any but we're talking the WORST psrformance than any other movie, right?
Haters should be thrilled about this. Just point to one of these awards and tell yourself that's proof.
But it's still not enough. People want to try and find more to criticise. It's so transparent.

I always thought it wasn't the DCCU because the two C's sounded awkward.

Affleck is the only one I'll disagree on. He was easily the highlight. Jesse Eisenberg absolutely deserves it though, and while I feel like it's the fault of the writing and not his acting, I can see why some people don't like Henry Cavill's portrayal either.

As a fan of the film, no surprise I disagree, but this is saying the worst performance of any film. Even if people think it sucked it just proves the gang up and trash mentality there is towards this one film.

I LOVE these movies. I probably have seen the uncut BVS almost 25 times.
As a person who never read comics, I had no preconceived notions other than stuff I saw in previous superhero movies.
This, for some was nothing short of a bastardisation (sp?)of people's most beloved characters.
For me, I love this Superman. I LIKE the grim, gloomy guy so far. His life has been pretty emotionally torturous. But, I always thought Snyder did this so there would be more of a payoff.
It may be nothing like the comics but I don't find a thing wrong with the story or acting.
I mean, in every movie maybe you can pick something else someone would do or say or .. whatever. But I just don't have any preconceived notions other than what a trailer shows( which I've often successfully avoided. It's tough to stay away.)

Im not sure I agree with Cavill. On the one hand he barely got any lines in the theatrical cut, but on the other he barely did anything with those lines anyway.

Months later it still pisses me off that he's a title character and pretty much the only notable thing he does is die. Superman deserves better.

I genuinely am bummed for big DC fans that aren't getting what they wanted. I see him as this is how he would be. He hid for 33 years. While superpowered it doesn't do anything to keep you from feeling horrible when you're lying to every single person for your whole life except your parents for 33 years.
I think it's on purpose that he's not smiling, waving, talking to the press. A lot of damage was caused in Metropolis and then the events of BVS. It's like he was given hope and it was all a stupid fantasy. He then has a restoration of faith and sacrifices himself to save the world.
I fully expected the plan was he would be happy when he finally got the world's love and acceptance.
I think he deserves better too but I just think this doom and gloom was always to make the triumph that much greater.

To me BvS and it's portrayal of superman was a giant pile of garbage and deserves all the hate and criticism it's getting (and will continue to get), however Affleck was excellent in the role despite the film's rubbish writing and I don't think he deserves a razzie nom.

Or they legitimately thought it was that bad.

Wish I could post memes because I would give you a great round of applaus. Though you make me feel bad because I haven't watched the UC still, I just like the TC so much that I feel no need to go up to my living room to try and figure out how to work a blu ray.

No, no, no that can't be true. It's transparent biased hate!!! No such thing as legitimate criticism against DCEU movies :o

The Razzie noms are well deserved. I would probably take Affleck off the list and add SS as worst picture. Leto and Jesse deserve the dual win. They can cut the award down the middle.

People bemoaned the "darkness and seriousness" of MOS, and then Snyder did BVS in an even darker and more serous manner. So to an extent I'll give it to him for doing his own thing despite the criticism from critics and fans.
"

The tone is a huge part of the DCEU's attraction for me. MoS established Superman as a dignified, god-like character. BvS established "grizzled" Bruce Wayne as teetering on madness. That makes the task of JL doing important things much easier, and it isn't as if injecting a little more levity is impossible. The humor and brightness can come along organically now.

The razzie noms are just hyperbole if you ask me. They want to nominate something that will make a big splash there's no way in hell BvS or SS were the worst films of 2016 or the worst acted. But from a Razzie stand point it gives them a big choice and it's popular to have that opinion in some circles. Such is the way of the world I guess.

Thanks Captain Obvious. Shall I quote all your posts over the last couple of pages on this topic and tell you the same now?

My bad. Point taken. I actually do TRY to say "in my opinion or I felt this and that "and not state things as fact. It may be silly prefacing everything with that but I find I end up having a better conversation that way. With me, having unpopular opinions, people get less angry.

A meme round of applause? Why?

I don't know if I said something annoying or something agreed with. Lol. My bad. I'm just so used to the bashing by now.

People should not get angry with you at all for having your own opinions, unpopular or not, you're entitled to them. Nobody should have to state the obvious that they are speaking on their own behalf just so people won't fly off at them.

The next time someone gets angry at you for having an opinion, report them.

Lost a friend to the hate last night. First reaction, he thought it was awesome. So I texted ," can you believe all these razzies?" The response was it was ok but WW I hear is a mess and Aquaman looks like sh$t. Sorry, you got a lot of razzies you're gonna not like in the future."
Lost another. Haha.
