Gentlemen, let's not lose our cool. If Jed thought there was too much mindless action, then so be it. Several critics thought Whedon was channeling his inner Michael Bay when they discussed the New York battle. Was it true? That's up to the viewer.
If WB pulls the plug I expect no Superman movie for at least maybe 15 years, they probably would let the Christopher Reeve Era fade more and then try again. Especially if that is what is hurting MOS. WB could even sell the rights however I doubt it because they probably make more on the comics, toys, games, clothes than any movie would.
There will always be Superman and Batman movies. Always. If this movie doesn't reach studio expectations where will be another reboot. Probably directly into a team up film. Too much money to be had.
I really hope WB can see potential, it sounds like this has the chance to be spectacular but it doesn't quite hit it. However, it also sounds like a film in which its sequels could improve it.
For example -
To little Clark/Lois - develop it in the sequel as the world is set up.
To little charm from Clark. Well if the film does indeed end with
Clark in the Daily Planet
it could set up for more in the sequels
To little happiness/hope, too serious. It's an origin story. This Superman story could be about hope. Gradually getting lighter as they go along.
I hope WB do indeed give it one more try. Sequels have been given for less. Plus what is the other option? Wait 10 years to reboot again?
I noticed that long ago. Kid Clark whines about being afraid and asks Pa if he should have let the other kids die, grown Clark mopes about his father saying humans would hate him, and that's it.

If u really wanna blame, I think zack is too concentrate on the core story n forget to do some ' hero self promoting scenes' like in STM, IM n Avengers.

Christopher Meloni was on the Katie Curic show too...they showed a quick scene with him that I hadn't seen before (Some of you might have)....it involved him and Faora ....I'll put in a spoiler tag....
He pulls out a pistol and empties it at her, the bullets bounce off and she smiles at him, he pulls his knife and faces her, she pulls out a knife like object and says something like "A good death is important."....he charges at her and Superman swoops down and knocks her away.
Who types like this? Are Superman fans suppose to enjoy every movie just because his name is on it? What about Superman IV? Do you love that movie? Give it that ole 95% on RT eh?
I have not seen the film yet,
But, my gut says that in the end,
You wont have Batman & Robin type of regrets after you see MOS at a Midnight screening.

The other issue I had is that...you only see Clark Kent as reporter Clark Kent during the last few seconds of the movie.
It would have been nice to see Superman's alter ego reporter Clark Kent at the Daily Planet and his interaction with Perry White, Lois Lane and other people at the Daily Planet.
Another thing, during the destruction of the Metropolis, they spend some time to focus on this person, Jenny who was stuck under a falling debris.
But because they didn't really introduce or developed this Jenny character earlier on in the movie, it makes audiences hard to relate or feel for this character.
