I'm hoping we get a calm and slow flying scene with Kal and Lois for the next film.
I loved moments when he was floating and when he slowly glided away from Lois to Zod.

Yeah, that was nice. I was afraid from the trailers that he would have to take off like a rocket every time he flew....that's good for some scenes, but the just floating off stuff is awesome in a different way.

You know, I really think Lex should know Clark is Superman, but actually use his influence to keep it a secret from everyone else. Then use that as a bargaining chip against him. Telling Clark how he helped keep his identity secret, and what would he do if he stopped helping him. Have Lex use it as a means to get Clark on his side, or at least try to control him.

That'd be an interesting angle to take. And instead of controlling Clark through blackmail - Lex would probably get wind of Clark destroying the surveillance satellites and know he's not too fond of that - Lex could befriend and attempt to control him through friendship instead, playing on Clark's renewed faith in humanity.

That's a good idea. I think it'd play out nicely, with Lex helping Clark and actually trying to "friends" with him. Maybe even offer Clark to help him fix the world. With Clark's powers, and Lex's resources, they could change the world. Until of course we discover Lex's true intentions.

Lex: Clark Kent is just Superman wearing a pair of glasses! Am I the only one who notices this?! I feel like I should be taking crazy pills!

And then how would this version of Clark handle the truth? Clark at the end of MoS was still a little distrustful of people in general - what would such a betrayal do to him?

I loved the little montage of Lois figuring out who Clark is and being the reporter that she is.
The first flight scene is great. I love the shakiness and the violent nature Snyder chose to shoot that scene. You feel like you are with Kal flying. All those insert shots of him smiling flying, the camera simulating the whipping air.
And Henry's smile sells it. Glad they didn't go the cheese route and have him scream woohoo or something.
Meh that's so easy to mess up and ooze cheese.
Anyway I understand the it's too dark of a film complaints. I still stand by my analysis saying it's a film that takes itself seriously, it isn't "dark."

The scenes with Lois investigating the Burning Angel was really cool. Reading it I knew it was gonna be a montage in the movie but we got some real insight into who Kal was and all the people he saved up to that point.

The flying was great. When they first announced MOS I said it would be cool if the camera couldnt keep up with him and it didnt. One thing I'm not so sure about is in the Zod fight scenes there are a couple moments, like in the office where the floor falls out from him and he just goes from standing to horizontal like he's swinging on a jib. Nothing wrong with it, but I always imagined his flight as something athletic, like swimming, you can swim fast or swim slow, but it still takes effort.

I would want Perry himself to know, but not his assistants. Or have him suspect something, anyway.

As for LL, it would be cool to see him blackmailing Clark. But I'd want him to initially not know who Superman is.

I like it when he likes Clark but not Superman in some versions ;)

It would be great if Perry knew. In fact, Fishburn's Perry is the type of savvy ex reporter who would know.

Lex knowing I wouldnt dig.

A serious reaction like that would be a great inversion.

I think Perry secretly knows already. *shrugs*
He should make a comment to Clark in the next film that basically tells the audience he knows but is acting stupid.

I wonder what inspirations Goyer and Snyder will take from comics for the sequel. MOS wasn't perfect (messy, underwhelming first act) but sweet zombie Jesus there were great moments outside the action. For instance, I very much enjoyed the tenderness of Martha's-Clark's scenes, especially the one where Clark comes back home.

Oh, and the score is still stuck in my head. Zimmer, you've done it again.

If Lex Luthor for MOS II, please god only use Brian Azzarello's Lex Luthor comics as the inspiration. Just as we deserve a Superman done right, we deserve a Lex Luthor done right (no more real estate stupidity).

Well, given that we see LexCorp throughout MOS, I don't think you have anything to worry about, unless the company has some interests in real estate.

A priest, Father Barron, talking about The Man of Steel. Deep stuff :wow:

well, technically, it would seem this Lex is still into real estate, given his name was all over Metropolis, and will probably have a hand in rebuilding the city.

I think we'll get something close to that with Snyder and Goyer at the helm. Whether Lex will be President, that remains to be seen. :woot:

Perry should have always known. Think of the drama inherent in a situation like that. Sequel should go down that road.

can't listen to it right now.

does he like it?

It's not really a review. He talks about concepts and symbology in the movie and what different characters represents.

Now we need a good Aquaman movie. Am I the only person who loves him as much as Superman? He's our own super being, forged on our own planet. I don't know, he always held a special place in my heart.

I want Aquaman done the right way too! Injustice and JL animated series were the closest I thought to a badass Aquaman.
