She looks so ****ing incredible as Diana. My god. What a fierce beauty

I wonder what material outfit is made out of? It seems heavy, almost impractical as an actor for her to be able to fight in it. Lol

I would guess that the bodice and "metal" aspects are some kind of plastic which has been formed and painted to look like hardened leather or metal, as appropriate. As for the skirt, presumably leather, but who knows when it comes to superhero costumes since how it looks onscreen is the ultimate determining factor in terms of what materials are used.

It certainly is impractical for an actor. I'm sure I read an interview that during filming for DoJ, Gal Gadot often felt on the point of fainting because the bodice was too tight / constricting. But, they worked on that for the solo Wonder Woman movie costume. It would also obviously be cold, especially when they were filming in England. And a little unsafe, given that she has to perform action scenes in wedge heels. And also uncomfortable due to the design, for example, the bottom of the "WW" belt, the points of which look like they would dig into her legs when she sits down, kicks, etc. And there is also the modesty factor, since the skirt is very short and the bodice doesn't have any should straps to hold it up (although that's probably why it's so closely fitted).

But, a lot of that is just the price you pay to be a superhero, unless you're Robert Downey Jnr and can get away with an almost entirely CGI costume.

Actually, it wasn't during the filming, but the costume fitting and they worked that out immediately for BvS. When she tried the costume for the first time it was too tight, but they tweaked it and that wasn't the case anymore.

I think I read somewhere that Gadot mentioned costume being rather heavy. As for material, I would guess they created some new mesh as they tend to do with these costumes (some sort of mixture of rubber, plastic, silicone, glass and who knows what else). I doubt that anything here is real metal or leather.

Costume designer Michael Wilkinson said that the costume was tweaked including for practical reasons for Justice League:

"They're really just typical changes to make the costume more comfortable and more serviceable for the choreography that Gal does," Wilkinson explained to Comicbook.com and other press during a Justice League set visit. "We did a slight tweaking of the color too, we've enriched the red a little bit. We always talk about centuries of congealed blood from her victims on the dress, so we really went for that really rich blood red on the dress. We increased and we exaggerated these sort of different golds and silvers. You can see in her eagle and the W's on her belt."

"One of the things that I love about working with Zack is he just wants everything to have this fantastic grace and reality to them," he added. "This is a costume that Wonder Woman has been wearing for all 5000 years of her existence and so she hasn't updated it. She trails the sword through all of her battles over the centuries, in the costume."

Oh, and by the way, Wilkinson also confirmed that she'll have her Lasso of Truth.

btw I posted this in the Image thread back in April, in case anyone missed it:

Wonder Woman is clearly the star of these movies. All eyes are on her whenever she's in the picture.

That's good. I could have sworn that she said she suffered through filming because she didn't want to appear ungracious by complaining about anything. Maybe I'm getting mixed up with another actor who had to wear a restrictive costume?

I know that they were tweaking the Xena costume (and hair / make-up) throughout the entire series to try to deal with various issues and obviously to reflect the greater say that Lucy Lawless had in costuming as time went by.

I hope Wonder Woman is apart of WB's presentation. I heard SS, Lego Batman, Kong, & Fantastic Beats will be so far

Just being nitpicky here, but that's not what she says in that comic panel. :whatever:

Not in that panel, though she does say it in some of the New 52 issues in discussion with Batman, defending her willingness to kill her enemies.

She did say that she almost passed out during the costume fitting, but didn't want to say anything because she didn't want to sound ungrateful. Everything else adds up, it just wasn't during the filming itself, so I think it is Gadot you're referring to. She does tell that story half of zillion times during the promo interviews for BvS:

And, yeah, you never really think of that, but these costumes, especially ones that are supposed to be a one-piece armor, are bound to be very restrictive, especially with all the moves actors and stunts are supposed to do. Moves that, historically, a person in such armor wouldn't perform, but films demand more dynamic in battles.

Yeah that's all I heard too so far hopefully they add Wonder Woman in too.

75th Anniversary for WW and the ONLY Comic Con before the movie. Panel and trailer.
