How about this...lets all agree to enjoy the run up to the movie no matter the results. We cant control whether it is good or not but we can be happy we are here and Wonder Woman happened. It wasnt all that long ago that many people didnt believe the film was coming even when filming started! Lets just celebrate until we have no reason to celebrate

To some people it is just another superhero movie. But to others this is WW- WW fans understand the importance of the character. I'm interested to see WW's cultural impact at this point in time, and also how devoted WW fans react.

I also wonder what this will all mean for the character from this point on, what effect it will have on her (which is why there are also some nerves there.)

I just want non-WW fans to see what WW fans love about the character. I am optimistic at this point.

This is a fan waiting for the film's release, after the release, waitiing on news for a sequel, casting news for the sequel, waiting for release of the sequel. Justice League...

I have never put any stock in reviews since I was a kid and I am not invested the way others are in these films always being successful as franchises, strange as that sounds. If WW flops, if JL flops... Life will go on. And while it may take time one day these characters will get another shot, maybe sooner than we all think. There was a five year difference between the two Hulk films after all.

Besides I know critics and myself are not always on the same wavelength and that includes "critics" among the message board set. Everyone and his brother enjoyed GOTG and I think it's a pretty mediocre movie. I enjoyed BvS but around here and in the world of professional critics you would have thought the film contained scenes of child molestation given the ridiculous reception that film got. Things are so heated these days and I cannot fathom why. Few things I find ever live up to the hype that are built up for them but also few things are ever the lowest common denominator trash people go on about ad nauseum either.

Hey it's possible this will be lackluster. There is no doubt that could be in the cards.

But even if it is does that mean there is no value at all in the movie or that "it's the worst thing ever "? Or what if the things these people giving early reactions to, if they are legit, aren't seen as detriments when you or I or anyone else sees it? I know lots of people hate on the last act of MOS as being action heavy but that is one of the big reasons I like it. For some it was badly paced or balanced but I liked having the film's character stuff front loaded and leaving that last half hour as an epic action fest. Saying there is a hard and fast rule about how these films have to be in my mind just means they have to be even more formulaic than super hero stories in general already are.

I'd sell one of my kidneys if there's not a single critic that says the film is too "dark". World Wars are supposed to be fun!

Mediocre MCU moves get decent scores, so if WW is like that (TIH, Iron Man 2, Thor TDW) it should also get a similar score but considering 'track record' of Critics it will probably get labeled as a bad movie, just saying.

I think we all have a good idea about the movie now after watching all the trailers and six TV spots.

Even in the worst case scenario, I cannot imagine it to be worse than Green Lantern, Suicide Squad and BvS : TC. In worst case, WW movie would be at par with MoS.

You reminded me of the last Hobbit movie, me and wife missed the second one, so went into the last where it's sword and dragon fights from start to finish, by the end I was like "no character development and slow-down time? Meh"

Then I see my wife next to me

from the tension and adrenaline.

So ya, one vision/method the director chooses can be meh for some, but great for others.

I keep saying this - movie criticism has become politicised. They've become like your local govt member.

So much hate towards BvS, Fant4stic (seriously, the racial hatred must have inspired Get Out) among other films.

it also works on the flip side: did anyone watch Shakespeare in Love and genuinely think it deserved any oscars literally at all?

Requiem For A Dream is a ****ing phenomenal movie. I hated it. I'm never watching it again.

You see? It's not that hard to differentiate between observance of quality and your personal take on something. Why are people so dense tho

We also have to be prepared and accept that there are probably going to be a decent number of negative reviews for this at the very least. This film, although a Patty Jenkins film, has Zack Snyder's visual aesthetic to it so you know that the "stylized action" is gonna rub a lot of critics the wrong way and critics will say "Snyder's stamp is all over this movie." That will automatically dock points for them.
