Picking a urinal? I either use all of them or piss on the floor. No compromise.

Well I never use them anyway. I always use a stall, unless they're all occupied and no-one is coming out for a long time. Then I might use a urinal if there's no-one about. The worst are the one big open troughs with no individual urinal pods.

I'm not going to bother to watch WW with anyone else otherwise I'd have to go to all the trouble of arranging it and trying to coordinate with others, which means that I'd just have to wait longer to see it.

Bough tickets for me, my girlfriend, and her sister to see the movie on Saturday. They've always tolerated my love for superhero films but never jumped on board but are now both very excited. Said it before and I'll say it again: I think this is going to be a huge hit.

Same and same. My wife rarely does movies at all because it means 90 minutes minimum without a cig and she's already said, I'm going. :woot:

Yeah, they're an abomination. And there's always that one guy that feels compelled to check you out, if you get what I mean.

I'm not willing to say anything regarding the success level of WW. I don't think it's going to hit $1 billion. Superhero films are popular, but I don't think hitting that target is an easy or regular thing to do anymore. Simply making a good profit is a success.

I think a billion is out of the question, and I agree that the "B" word is thrown around too much. But WW is going to make a healthy profit, mark my words. I'm willing to bet they green light a sequel before the summer is over.

I think you're right. I know I've never seen my mom so excited for a superhero movie before.

It's crazy that it's taken this long for a female-centric superhero film.

I wonder if it's better to go on the Thursday, which is opening day. If I go to a later showing, then perhaps there won't be as many people there because some will have to go to work early the next day. There might be more people on the Friday.

But then, if it is opening day, people might not care about work the following day and might be there in full force, especially if they want to support the movie.

Which is the more likely scenario?

What I like about WW is that the lead character is female and the film seems to be without the usual in your face PC preaching in comparison to something like the Ghostbusters reboot. I find that really refreshing. As Patti said, "I, as a woman, want Wonder Woman to be hot as hell, fight badass, and look great at the same time - the same way men want Superman to have huge pecs and an impractically big body. That makes them feel like the hero they want to be. And my hero, in my head, has really long legs."

Origin movies dont do a billion...sequels and team ups do. Wonder Woman's threshold for success is way lower :)

The Wonder Woman thread is surprisingly quiet, the one at boxofficetheory as descended in complete insanity :funny:

She said that!?

What a woman!

In my experience, the first Thursday night show is always packed, and it's a pretty good crowd too (as in, they know when to cheer and when to shut up and enjoy the film, lol), because they're all fans who are dying to see it. Never gone to the later Thursday night show, but whenever I'm leaving and see the line for it, it doesn't seem nearly as long as the one I had waited in for the first show, so I'm guessing it's not generally quite as packed.

Friday during the day might not be too busy, but Friday night will be primetime and the crowds will be out in full force. So I'd say if you're trying to avoid the crowds, try the latest possible Thursday show or a Friday matinee.

Ok thanks for the advice. The latest show on Thursday is 8.30 pm. The first one is at 6.15. But 8.30 isn't so late that people couldn't still turn up in force for that. They could be out of there by 11.00 pm (since the movie wouldn't start until 9).

But I suppose 11.00 could be late for some who want to be in bed earlier.

Not sure about a matinee, as that means it's in the middle of the working day. I prefer it in the evening anyway as it then feels like you're not missing off on something else you're supposed to be doing (ie work).

I'm seeing this Thursday morning at my local theatre which is never packed. I prefer it that way. The best part is that the bloody kids are at school.

Oh wow, 8:30 IS pretty early for a "late" show. The late shows by me are around 10-ish. Not sure how well you'll be able to avoid the crowd on that one. But at least you'd have less kids to deal with at that show.

Never seen a Thursday morning showing for this kind of film. Usually all day showings start on Friday.

On Friday I think the late show is about 9 or 9.30pm. There probably are later shows in other theatres but this one is my local cinema which is more of an art house theatre. I'd have to travel further if I want it in 3D and later. Although they used to show films in 3D at my local. Don't know why they've stopped. Even GOTG isn't in 3D.

My legit IMAX theater has a show at 7 PM and another at 10:15 PM on Thursday. Both in 3D...

Thank goodness this morning they've added non-Xtreme screen sessions (cinema #1)for Hoyts in NZ.

The #2 cinema screen seem to be as big as the Xtreme screen with less seats, and cost $3-4 less per person.
