It's like I've been saying. The problem with Superman in recent years is that filmmakers are overthinking it. As it turns out, people are still receptive to "goodie goodie" characters. Likability goes a long way.

They listen to nerds that have been conditioned to like angsty dark characters, that's all. I think a lot of us grew up in the 80s-present day era of comics and saw it all. You probably remember the era they tried to pull that **** with WW herself.

Me too! It's actually the perfect structure for a Superman movie, character development wise.

It's like Ang Lee directing some movie. I can't remember which way round it was, but he was either trying to make a movie about Chinese people or Jewish people. I think he told the writer just to write the Chinese as Jews or vice versa and then do a replace all, because he knew that their characters, journey and mannerisms were exactly the same in this case. If the movie was the Joy Luck Club then the screenwriter probably wrote them as Jewish and changed them all to Chinese.

Possibly, but I've never really been an Aquaman fan (though his New 52 run was fun for a while). My great DC loves are Superman, Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman.* And since MM ain't gonna be showing up any time soon, I just need Supes and Wondy to work and I'll be a happy fangirl. And it's sounding like we're halfway there. t:

*Green Lantern would be number 4 so if that GLC movie could also work out better than the last one, that would be aces.

Yeah. Cavill needs a director like Patty, someone that can bring out the best in the cast and the character.

I disagree! I believe he has had some good charming moments in the 2 movies!! I agree that I would love to see him directed by another director that could possibly bring out even more charm than in snyders movies! But Hot Damn I LOVE Snyders movies though

I've been thinking, if they gave Henry the same type of lines they gave Reeve back then (obviously modernizing it, maybe cutting down on a bit of cheese), then he would've been one hell of a charismatic Superman.

Now I just hope WB don't think that, just like they did before when reasoning that Superman should be dark like Batman, that now he should be a charming and innocent warrior princess like Wonder Woman.

At the very end, before the last scene in the present day, the movie makes the WHOLE sense. Complete circle. And VERY emotional. People were crying at my screening tonight here in Brazil.

If WB can get Mathew Vaughn on board I think we've got a good chance of getting a Superman film that is good and more of a crowd pleaser.

If WW is as amazing as some think then this is just icing on the cake. For someone like myself that is a big fan of the DCEU's films, excited to see this.
