Easily on my top 10 list of superhero movies ever made. Can't see myself getting tired of it.
Rewatchability Factor: 51 on a 10 scale.

Loved the Movie!! The only thing I was expecting more of was the story in Themyscria. I thought there would be just a bit more.
Same here! The look itself is up there for me.Easily on my top 10 list of superhero movies ever made. Can't see myself getting tired of it.
I would have been cool if the whole story had taken place there.![]()
I've had a day to ruminate on the film, and while I think I need another viewing, I am largely satisfied with it and proud of the accomplishments of the film and its creators and talent...but what I mean is this:
As has been pointed out elsewhere, there's a definite "paint by numbers" quality to the storytelling here compared to previous DCEU entries. Everything flows exactly as it "should", but that means there's not a ton of complexity to the proceedings, and sometimes not much tension as a result. The concepts explored are fairly complex ones, but the execution, not so much. I suppose the argument can be made that this film is more coherent as a result, and that's a good thing overall, though I think it's a tad exposition-heavy.
Because of the approach this film takes, I don't know that this will ultimately have the kind of layered, rewatch value of say, a MOS or BVS.
I will say that I'm glad they didn't seek to "Marvelize" the DCEU in any real sense. The film very much has its own identity, and doesn't lean much on the approach of any other successful franchise. And this is a definite "win" for the DCEU, and the portrayal of heroes in general, because there really is a lot of hope, heart and empathy at play, and they manage to do it without it feeling completely saccharine, which is no small feat. There's a really nice balance struck of hope and cynicism.
Yeah but how would you get Diana into our world?I would have been cool if the whole story had taken place there.![]()

I could see having her leave Themyscria at the tail end and continued in Wonder Woman 2, but, WB had no idea how well it would do in the theaters, and we would have been hanging if they didn't make a follow up

I'm surprised they DIDN'T shoot extra. WB seems to like doing the extended moviesJenkins should've shot a ton of footage that could make up a whole other movie in Themyscira. Then if the theatrical version does well, she can release an extended cut of WW which is almost like a 2-part mini series. The first part is entirely set in Themyscira and ends with Steve crash landing, and the second part is everything else following on from there.
It's a great time to be a Superhero Fan lolNice! Glad you loved it![]()
Maybe they actually got a director and writer who knows what they are doing this time?I'm surprised they DIDN'T shoot extra. WB seems to like doing the extended movies

That was my EXACT concern. I'm sure I'll dig it but I know I'll miss the complexity. 2.25 hours to go.
This rarely if ever works out. LotR and... nothing else. This is exactly how cutting hell happens, how arcs become uneven, and movies lose their focus and flow. The only stuff that should be left out is stuff that is cut in the editing room.Well I think it's still possible to know what you're doing but shoot extra. If Patty were very efficient and had a really good plan, she'd know what is going to make it into the movie, and the rest she could shoot as extras to go on the BR/DVD. She wouldn't be stuck with a crap load of footage which she'd find hard to edit together but would already have one vision for the movie in her mind and then everything else would be icing on the cake.
I thought she was good. I wasn't a big fan of her longer bits of dialogue and the ADR at the end of the movie was really strange for both her and [BLACKOUT]Ares[/BLACKOUT]. They got away from her. She was really funny though, and I liked most of her big emotional bits.So is there anyone complaining about Gal's acting at all and even saying she was terrible? There were quite a few people before the movie came out. Are they still of the same opinion?
