This is awesome

Chris Pine was asked about whether he would be coming back for the Wonder Woman sequel and he said he was waiting to see just like everybody else. That he'll be waiting by his phone for the call if they need him.

(1:10 minute mark)

I don't see how this could happen. As much as I liked his Steve Trevor, bringing him back would be such a cop out, completely negating his arc from the original film. We may want to see him back, but that was the entire point of it, that's why you create the character audience cares for in the first place.

He could be needed for flashbacks or visions though.

Or as Chris Pine the actor =P

I tend to agree. But, in Jenkins we trust.

She and Johns seem to have a good feel for the characters, and I would think that the studio would basically let Jenkins do whatever she wants at this point.

So I have confidence that they will make good choices.

If they care about either one of these characters, especially Diana, they'd leave well enough alone. It just comes off as a cheap ploy to recapture the magic of the first film that made so much money. I'd like to think they care more about the integrity of the narrative and not just a bottom line.

I agree. The only real circumstances in which I could se it happening would be if:

- Dr Psycho creates an illusion of Steve Trevor to mess with Diana's mind as part of some grander plan; or
- Hades offers to free Steve Trevor from the Underworld as part of some bargain for Diana to bring Hades back to life / free him from some godly prison or some other plot reason.

But, I'm not sure either storyline is necessarily strong enough for a sequel. And we've already seen Steve Trevor play a central role in Diana's motivations in DoJ and on-screen with Diana in her solo film, during which the bookends highlighted his importance to Diana. I don't need to see him any more. I'm sure that they can find other co-stars that Gal Gadot shares on screen chemistry with.

Chris Pine could always come back as a villain, a badass brainwashed marksman with a metal leg who doesnt remember who he is. WW 2 would be about Diana trying to get him to remember who he was. Then in WW 3, he appears again, and we find out it was him who killed Bruce's parents and Batman goes on a crusade to stop him and Diana gets caught between her two friends.

Bam. There's your trilogy.

Ugh, no..

Show him but he's an illusion ..like how Pa Kent appeared in BvS, to support what she's doing.

It is possible he could turn up in flashbacks, showing us conversations that happened between him and Diana off-screen.

I like this idea similar to how they made Jean Grey a supporting character in Logan. Only here for her he can act more as a moral compass during times her resolve is tested.

Do you mean The Wolverine?

The tentpole is now the third-biggest Warner Bros. release of all time, not accounting for inflation; if all goes as planned, the studio will announce the sequel at Comic-Con later this week.

Another day, another milestone for Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman.

Today, the superhero film will become the third-biggest Warner Bros. release of all time in North America — not accounting for inflation — leapfrogging the final Harry Potter film, 2011's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

Through Sunday, Wonder Woman's domestic total was $380.7 million, compared with $381 million for Deathly Hallows: Part 2. The studio's two top-grossing films domestically are Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight ($533.3 million) and The Dark Knight Rises ($448.1 million), again, not adjusting for inflation.

Wonder Woman is now assured of becoming the top-grossing movie of summer 2017, besting Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which has grossed $386.6 million domestically to date. (Wonder Woman will ultimately earn north of $390 million in North America.)

The female-led tentpole has become a winning case study for why Hollywood studio executives should entrust female directors with their marquee properties. And if all goes as planned, Warners and DC will announce a release date for a Wonder Woman sequel at Comic-Con late this week, with Jenkins once again directing.

Unrelated but how soon until we finally get a animated non-team series for WW?

Not soon enough. There was this 70s inspired WW from a while back that I would've loved to seen as a show.

Probably another 10+ years. WB is still anti female dtvs. If they didn't bother releasing one to coordinate with the film, i doubt they'll do one anytime soon.

WB has locked 2 release dates for 2020 (Feb & June) :hmm

I believe that Wonder Woman 2 will be scheduled for June 5, 2020.

So does Mendelson. https://***********/ScottMendelson/status/887072118977974272

Hope you two are right!
