Yep, they need an Amazon language (derived and tweaked from ancient greek is fine) and I'm also thinking we're finally going to get an official Themysciran flag. I bet the reason this has never happened in the book is because WW is basically wearing the American flag and she had early ties to working closely with the US and any sort of patriotism to her own actual nation she was heir to be queen of was oddly nonexistent.

That's an interesting choice for a couple of reasons. For starters he doesn't have a lot of credit to his name, so Pan and Wonder Woman will really be our first glimpse of him and what he can do. What also strikes me is the fact that he's 28. It's always unique and encouraging to see young prospects given a chance to break through. Now not only do I want this to be good for the shake of being good (obviously), but I want to see more young talent flourish and this is his opportunity.

At the hands of a bad director, it could happen. There are some screenplays that just don't translate well onscreen. But I don't think we have to worry about that.

I agree. I've seen some awesome fan-made flags for Themyscira which adopt all of the inconic symbols and colours from Wonder Woman's costume, but which result in a flag that looks nothing like the US flag.

If the New Mexico set is Themyscira, then we may even get some spy shots of flags sooner rather than later!

And a unique Amazonian language, even if based on Ancient Greek, would also be very cool. But, I would be okay if they skipped it. If the Amazons have been keeping tabs on man's world, then I'm sure they've kept up to date with the predominant/popular languages, so they should all be able to speak English (and Mandarin and Hindi and Spanish and some others).

They did have flags used on ships.

Themyscira isn't Greece. Surely, there were nations in the ancient world that had flags or banners. Also, the Amazons could have come up with the idea on their own.

IGN: Obviously Hollywood's come a-knocking now, and I know you've been rumored for Wonder Woman and stuff like that. Can you tell us, are there any major, Hollywood genre movies that you're seriously considering tackling?

Kent: I was, for the record, never asked -- Warner Brothers did fly me to America, actually, and I can say that -- but they never asked about Wonder Woman. And that's fine by me. But they did ask me about a lot of other projects, which I'm now slowly reading through. I'm very, very open to it. But again, I've got two films that I'm writing -- I'm a writer-director; I can generate my own material -- but I'm open to stories that move me, that suck me in. I'm looking to find writers to collaborate with on stories that I could direct, for sure. And I'm not opposed to directing films in America. I don't see myself in the tentpole arena; maybe that's disappointing to genre-makers, but you know, I'm open. It just really has to be an idea that grabs me like The Babadook grabbed me -- then I'll follow it to the ends of the Earth.
