The character is showing up in Zack Snyder's film first and he's the Justice League director, it makes sense he and his wife would produce it.

Wonder Womans New 52 Origin Should Not Be Used in Film (or At All)

I agree with a lot of what was said. I don't think it was necessary for Zeus to be Diana's father to tie her storyline into that of the Greek gods. As the creation of a group of female (and possibly male) Greek gods, Diana is already a "child" of the gods and part of their family.
While I don't mind how this origin was dealt with in New52, I still think that it was unnecessary. I also think that it removes an entiretly unique and interesting aspect from Diana's origin that (to my knowledge) no other superhero shares.
I also agree with the points about highlighting Diana's "warrior" tendencies, particularly the fact that she now commonly carries a sword and that it is often in her hand instead of sheathed unless required (although this didn't really happen in her solo series where the swords were infrequently used and "hidden" in her gauntlets unless required).
Either way, it's becoming clearer what version of Diana we will see in live action and it seems that the New52 version was a particular inspiration. Although cultured and experienced in man's world, Diana appears to come from a somewhat "primitive" society of Amazons (based on the limited set pics of the Themyscira set in New Mexico and her "Wonder Woman" armour and weaponry, particularly the sword). It's also been confirmed that Zeus will be her father, although that could potentially be tweaked to provide that Zeus brought the clay child to life. But, I expect that they'll go with the more standard method of conception between Hippolyta and Zeus as per the New52 origin.
I still hold out hope that they will ably demonstrate Diana's compassion in live action. In her solo title, they pretty much stuck to the idea that Diana does not raise her fist without first extending her hand. It was really only in the Justice League title and other appearances that New52 Diana was a one-dimensional "warrior woman".
Just like it was necessary that Superman had the DNA of all Kryptonians in MOS.
I'm fine with either approach. I enjoyed Perez's run and Azzarello's. Taking inspiration from all of WW's history is always best approach.
O/T - I have to admit that I still don't understand what the point of the Codex (or whatever it was called) being implanted into Kal-El's DNA was! It didn't seem to have any impact on Zod's plans to terraform Earth.

The Codex didn't have any impact on his plans? It was the sole purpose behind his plans!
The Codex was Zod's goal because he could bring Kryptonians back as a species. Terraforming Earth would be pointless without the Codex.
O/T - Fair enough. I got that Zod was all about the purity of the Kryptonian race, but he had male and female soldiers/followers. He could have been making baby Khryptonians without the Codex's pre-planned babies categorised by the Kryptonian class system (and I guess he would also need the artificial wombs in the crashed scout ship as well). Anyway, I personally don't care enough about Man of Steel to debate the finer points.
Not Bad but Angelina Jolie would be great as well.
Maybe if you paid attention to the movie, you'd have a better appreciation of it. It sounds like you didn't get most of the plot, and its the same with the changes to Diana's origin. It's hard to take people's criticism against a story when it's more about them not getting it than the story itself.
Wow. Okay. I bow down to your superior intelligence and fanboiii-ism!
People say why doesn't Zod terraform another planet with the codex or have natural babies and so on. Zod couldn't comprehend such things because his base genetic programming is protect and preserve his ideal Krypton above anything else.Look at this. We could have built a new Krypton in this squalor, but you chose the humans over us. I exist only to protect Krypton. That is the sole purpose for which I was born. And every action I take, no matter how violent or how cruel, is for the greater good of my people. And now... I have no people. My soul, that is what you have taken from me!
