Well, since it's been announced that the Wall Crawler is going to debut in Cap 3, I think it's only right that us fans do our solemn duty and begin throwing out names that the studios will never pick.

Who wants to start?

Some very basic criteria courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter

The studio is currently looking for an actor much younger than 31-year-old Andrew Garfield, who most recently portrayed the superhero, as well as a writer for its reboot.

I don't like to offer casting choices. I prefer to give a lineup of potential candidates.

These are based on my hope that Spidey/Peter Parker is 20-24 in this film. He's a high school nerd who's grown into himself and although still geeky at heart, he has gained a confidence boost that carries over somewhat from his alter ego. I want to see a personality type that is in the middle of the Tobey (Super awkward nerd) --------- Andrew (Confidence bordering on arrogance) scale.

Logan Lerman
Dave Franco
Taron Egerton
Zac Efron
Ansel Elgort
Dylan O'Brien

Marvel have been great with their casring and when it comes to theur nost iconic character, they're going to really deliver. Personally I'm going to have to come back with a candidate because I can't think of anyone right now.

I think they'll go the UK route again, my top 2 predictions:

Taron Egerton (Kingsman, Age 25)
Isaac Hempstead Wright (Game of Thrones, Age 15)

Regardless of who gets cast, I just want a Spider-Man who wisecracks. Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man was perfect in that regard.

Can I just take a moment to point out how amazing it is that we're talking about who's going to play Spider-Man in the new Captain America movie? That's.... nuts.

Taron edgerton is an interesting choice. He could certainly pull off the charm

Is there zero possibility of Andrew Garfield returning to the role?

Yes, it is :woot:

I don't know if it's official but apparent Parker will be in high school.

Hopefully a young actor will be cast. Garfield does look much younger than he is, but now we need a guy much younger who can carry with the role for the next ten years and age with it.

Most sites and people are naming known (of various degrees) actors but perhaps Marvel should should go for unknowns.

Other than that the only teenage actors I know of are Asa Butterfield (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Ender's Game) or Chandler Riggs (The Walking Dead).

Riggs is very young but he would still be a teenager in "Civil War" and "Spider-Man [2017]".

King K also had a good suggestion - Isaac Hempstead Wright.

The picture of Logan Lerman on CBM has him look exactly the way the John Romita Sr. drew Peter Parker. It's uncanny, down to the exact same shape of his head. I think that's an unusually specific thing to be looking for (so other casting considerations should take priority), but I felt like pointing that out.

I have no idea who these people are and I dont really have a clue who would play Peter. Im from the Tobey Maguire generation. I was really happy with that whole cast.

I said in another thread, if they're going young, Chandler Riggs.

He does scream Peter Parker in those pics you posted. He's adorable, and a really good actor too.

Wouldn't mind if he was cast.

(I feel like I'm thread stalking you right now. Sorry….)

There aren't a lot of 17 year olds with the resume he has and I think he could easily hold his own with the "adults" in the MCU. I really like the idea of having a young Peter interacting with Tony, Steve, Thor, Bruce etc because of the interesting age and experience dynamics. Not to mention his adorable crush on Steve works better if he's a teenager played by an actual teen.

(stalk away :woot:)

Miles?

:hehe:

I mean, we already know he's a comic fan:

Why not? You could effectively end that Spider-arc in Civil War with his death, paying respect & tribute to those films & opening the door for an inspired Miles Morales (the character and the film) "reboot" in the aftermath. Just a spontaneous bright idea.

I have to say Im not too crazy about a high school teeny bopper Spider Man movie. At this point, I want to see adult stories in the MCU. I guess its more about how they do it, but right now, not into it.

Asa butterfield is a good choice he's a good actor also like lerman but I wouldn't mind Dylan o brien

somebody with the last name butterfield should not be allowed to be famous, I'm sorry
:hehe:

Funny thing...Dylan o'brien was my suggestion for if they ever re-casted Spidey before any of this news happened...sooooo...obviously he's my choice. :P
