BvS Amy Adams IS Lois Lane - Part 6

Lois going gaga for superman is a regular occurrence in the mythology, but they do tend to take alittle too far sometimes.

I don't really remember smallville much, I only watched the first 2 and the last 3 seasons regularly but I thought durance was fantastic, maybe someday I'll go back and take another look.

Dana Delany's voice was spot on there! But I felt that lois in particular was abit sexualized at times especially for a (supposed) kid's cartoon, infact there is a shot in 'last son of krypton' part III where john Corbon was about to kill lois and you see an almost up-skirt shot of her very mini skirt. Then again I just turned teenager at the time so I had no complaints:cwink:

I know it's part of thr mythology but it was overdone in the movies imo. And anyway the crazy Lois schemes to marry Superman aND and prove he's Clark irritate me also. I think Teri's approach was done better and not as idiotic, of course she looked stupid but not too much. Perhaps I'm just ok with her infatuation because she got over it and fell for Clark himself.

Because the Lois from the movies was based on the Silver Age and Kate Bosworth's Lois is based on that as it was a quasi sequel to Superman II. It's not that difficult to understand. That's what Silver Age Lois was like. Silver Age Lois would find out Clark is Spuerman and he'd do some crazy, weird thing like use a power Superman never had to make her doubt herself and it would go on and on... and on.

Teri's, Erica's and now Amy's Lois is clearly a Post Crisis version of the Lois Lane character.

And Post-Crisis Lois was based on her earlier appearances in the Golden Age. Like the Fleischer Cartoon where some mobsters try and steal from the train she's on, and so she shots back at them with a Tommy Gun.

Also, Golden Age Lois was based off the more immediately competent Girl Friday and Torchy female reporters. I was really saddened the day my Superman archive collections at the library transitioned from brief, somewhat juvenile but fun and thrilling pulpy adventures to hopelessly formulaic and stupid drive.

I know I'll get hate for saying this, but I'm still not 100% sold on Amy's take on Lois. When I see her and Superman I see Superman/Clark and Amy Adams. I can't help it. Personally, I don't mind the love triangle aspect of the mythos. But I know it has no place in modern day and its a tired story arc.

I know as I'm a young male I'm bound to have preferred Erica Durance, but even still, I feel as though there's a little something missing still. I see little to no difference between real-life Amy and Lois. It throws me off from the Lois I used to know.

Its a shame, but hopefully my mind will be changed in Batman vs Superman.

My. Sentiments. Exactly.

The "Triangle" still exsist's even after Lois and Clark are together and she knows the secret. Lois will have to treat Clark and Superman differently in public.

Oh and you make it sound some of are us old timers. I'm 28 I and I loved Erica Durance's Lois,my favourite but I can accept other Lois's. Where as I've found a lot of Smallvile fans who seem to think the character should never be played again. I watched all 10 season and read season 11 of the comics. So I'm a fan of the shows but I'm a fan of the character Lois Lane. She's one of my favourites full stop.
I've like all Lois maybe bar Bosworth because each have played a Lois of that time period and each brought a characteristic of Lois from the comics. Remember shes' 77 years old there's been different interpretations of her in the books too but the characteristics all remain similar.

And I didn't know real life Amy and the character's she plays are similar. That must mean Amy acts like stripper, con artist, lesbian, Lady Macbeth like character, nun etc. Oh and aren't you the one who keep's saying "why didn't Amy look like that? whenever someone post's a pic of Amy Adams from American Hustle? You mean you wanted Lois to look like a stripper and a con artist? :funny:This is getting boring now. Why do this everytime you come into Amy Adams thread?

I've stated the same before, but I usually get slammed because I also don't like the look of Amy Adams.

You don't and Rachel McAdams, Really? 3 years younger than Amy and a worse actress. Get out of here. I bet you pray to the god's that a recast still happens. Two movies in going into the third of Amy Adams tenure. All those people you've listed for Lois aren't better actresses than Amy Adams. :funny:

I look forward to your trolling in this thread and in the months and the year ahead on the Amy Adams thread, I really do.:whatever: it's funny how you only turn up when someone talk's negatively about Amy. You'd think this was nothing actress and not one of the best actress on the planet. 5x Oscar nominated and 2x Golden Globes winner say differently.

Not liking the look of Amy's Lois? Okay so you trying to tell me Lois wouldn't dress like this? I mean I remember some of you wanted Lois to be dressed in a skirt and heels in MOS while going into the arctic.:funny:

Now that's Lois Lane. I can show you pics of Amy Adams you know the glamorous actress if you wish but then I'd clog up the whole thread with picture after picture.

The paper back issue of Sensation Comics featuring Wonder Woman #27 "Girls Day Out" (It's a two parter) came out recently (Digital was released about 6 months ago) and it's a shout out to the DC movie verse Lois and WW.

Stana Katic, Natalie Dormer, Scarlet Johansson or Rachel McAdams for Lois Lane

Scarlett, really? Obviously she can't being Black Widow. Anyway, maybe you should change your sig, Amy is here to stay. Besides, she's a better actress than all of those above, you don't get nominated for the Oscars several times unless you're really good. Most people don't care about Lois' hair colour or the "she's too old" nonsense, Amy is great in the role and her Lois is smart and feisty, the way it should be.

If their relationship is anything like that in the DCEU films, I will be very, very happy.

You don't have to like her, but your sig makes no sense. They ain't going to recast her and even if they did, Scarlett would not come into play. lol

I like McAdams tho, but she won't be Lois. Lawd.

You cray.

A red head Lois Lane who can use a gun and actually is seen successfully investigating stuff is a better Lois Lane than any other portrayal of the character I've seen thus far.

There. I said it.

If I wasn't posting from my phone, I'd pull up that Breaking Bad "You're goddamn right" gif.

Anyone who doesn't like Amy Adams as Lois is dead to me. Sight unseen.

I really liked Amy's Lois and from what I hear Lois is THE female lead in BvS (not Wonderwoman) so I really hope they develop her character even further, not to mention her relationship with Clark, which needs half a film on it's own.

Amy Adams is billed third after Affleck and Cavill. So yeah she's the female lead. It's on the official site if you go there and click where it say's "credits" .

Amy on her role in BVS:

“Lois is still sort of like the key to the information, you know? She’s the girl going out and getting it and figuring it out and putting it together and all of that, so she’s very much involved, but I kind of leave the heavy lifting to the boys, you know? So to speak.”

Everyone should just listen to Funky Fallen and the boards would be a saner place.

Considering Adams actually has dialogue in the trailer and is playing Lois Lane should be proof enough she's the female lead.

The order of names doesn't always reflect the size of the role, remember that chris reeve's name was third behind brando's and hackman's.

That's true but that was the 70s' and CR was a nobody compared to Hackman and Brando. But he was the star of the S:TM.

Amy she was billed second in MOS and billed third here and already officially confirmed for Justice League with Affleck and Cavil so it's not as if her role is a small one considering she was filming pretty much from the start of production.

You're also taking one movie in the 70's to discredit when pretty much every other films credits is accurate and I've even given you quotes from Amy herself to back up your point that you hope Lois is developed more. Not sure why your being a Debbie downer when I'm giving you info that is backing that point up.

Yeah, but we all know that this is a Batman movie. Therefore, the female lead must be his longtime love interest, Wonder Woman. ;)

Amy was great as Lois in MoS. I look forward to her role in BvS.
