And the Tomatometre begins...........

Mentioned elsewhere... loads of times...

Who cares what that site thinks anyway!

The site is good because it compiles all of the interviews, and averages out how the critics critiqued the film

Thanks, ddboi :)

Don't just go by "cream of the crop" as it tends to ignore the overseas reviews. The way the tomatoemeter works, the movie may get a high percentage (eg 70-80%) but with most of the "fresh" reviews being only 3/5.

Well...

so far the CREAM OF THE CROP is 0 % and both the reviews are from respected sites hollywood reporter and variety.

You know what guys i am hoping it gets between 60-70% but i think X3 will end up getting between 40-55%.

And now I think this movie will have a 4-day weekend between $120-$125 and get a multiplier between 2.2-2.3 due to mixed word of mouth.

ENOUGH to make $250-$288 million domestically and $200-$250 overseas for a worldwide tally between $450-$538 worldwide.

I honestly don't know why this film wouldn't get a really high rating. Spidey 2, a tired rehash of the first one with no real vision behind it, got really high marks. Maybe people like what is familiar to them? But after a year of Hollywood releasing a crap fest of terrible action and horror movies, X3 should be a pleasant surprise this summer. It has realistic characters in a fantasy universe, an interesting, original storyline and very cool fights and special effects. It is also the end of the X-Men trilogy, which gives it cache. Unless these critics are secretly posters from this board, it really doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Yea exactly.. even the popcorn crowd will bolster the flick to approved status im betting. But 80% is not guaranteed imo.

Ya, DVC (altho rotten) went up in its rating from 0 to 22% so we will see a climb for X3

For a better accuracy, I usually just take the average of the overall User score and the overall Critic score..

All you need to get a 100% fresh rating on the Tomatometer is to make a safe solid film with no flaws (and this has been achieved a number of times). The average rating out of 10 that Rotten Tomatoes also provides gives a better indication of film quality.

Since when has any film had no flaws???

You're living in dreamland. Nothing is worth 100%, nothing is flawless.

That's my point - films do get 100% on the tomatometer rating (of course they are not perfect) and that is why I am recommending the average /10 measure as a better indication of film quality.

Alien and the Godfather got a 100%

and those movies are basically flawless
