Jeff and Beau got into the business because of their father, just like Jaden and Willow.
Oh......Gotcha.

I liked Blankman and Major Payne...though I will concede White Chicks and Little Man sucked.Just think if the Wayans and the Smiths decided to work together?
Hollywood would for sure be dead...
I'll pass on this like I passed on Kung Fu Kid,errr I mean Karate Kid![]()

“The time is right to bring back ANNIE to the big screen. Of course, we’re true believers in Willow's talent and believe she will be perfect in this role,” said Columbia Pictures President Doug Belgrad. “Combining Willow with the Overbrook team that reimagined Karate Kid and the spectacular JAY-Z makes this a dream project. A decade ago, JAY-Z proved that the power of the underlying Broadway property remains, by showing how these songs could be reinterpreted for a new generation with Hard-Knock Life. We couldn't be more thrilled to be working with our friends at Overbrook as they launch this new venture.”
Seeing as Karate Kid was generally well-received, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. This is going to be worse than Karate Kid.

128 critics beg to differ. But that's your opinion. I never saw the movie myself, but whatever. That movie was some hot garbage.
A combination of Jay-Z's crap "music" plus Will Smith shoving his kids down everyones throats is a recipe for disaster.
This is going to be worse than Karate Kid.

Development on Sonys musical remake of Annie continues, and the project has both gained and lost a player. The project was first announced in early 2011 with Will Smith and Jay-Z producing the redo as a starring vehicle for Smiths daughter Willow Smith. Willow is now 12 years old and has since outgrown the lead role, so she is no longer attached to star. However, movement on the project continues as Easy A and Friends with Benefits helmer Will Gluck is now in negotiations to direct. Hit the jump for more.
In addition to directing, Gluck will rewrite the script, which was first written by Emma Thompson and subsequently rewritten by Ailine Brosh McKenna. The pic is a modern day reimagining of the story, and Will Smith and Jay-Z remain onboard as producers with an eye towards a fall 2014 release date. Gluck has shown a penchant for helming charming and wildly entertaining films in the past, so he seems a good fit to introduce Annie to a new generation of fans. Per Deadline, Jay-Z had the following to say about Glucks involvement:For Marcy Medias first foray into film, we couldnt ask for better partners and mentors than Overbrook Entertainment. We are excited to work with Will Gluck and Sony Pictures Entertainment. My well-known affinity for the classic Hard Knock Life makes Annie a natural vehicle to lead us into the world of the cinema.Gluck is attached to a number of projects at the moment, but it appears that Annie will now be his priority. With a 2014 release date eyed, we should hear more news soon.
