oh noes there are racists on the internet?
my entire happy view of the world has been shattered
plz tell me it isn't true
I never get the point of these articles that compile together and handful reaction tweets. I bet I could find a dozen examples of any bizarre and stupid viewpoint on Twitter.
the comic was actually a lot darker. The last one ended in 2004 on a cliffhanger with daddy warbucks being informed annie died at sea.
Some people said the most baffling and insensitive things when the first Hunger Games premiered. So bizarre and hateful, but done in the most blasé way possible. So strange. As if they think their comments exists in a vacuum until Gawker digs them up (which is a great service)
Was that the one with Alan Cumming as Rooster? That one wasn't bad...
As I recall, Will Smith put this version together with the idea that his daughter would play Annie, but had to recast when she told him she didn't want to do it. Maybe he should have just shelved the whole thing then. I don't think the world was really crying out for another Annie remake.
The character Rue being played by a black girl.Trailers can be misleading, so this might turn out ok. But Diaz looks terrible here. All here lines were pretty crappy.
Wait what exactly did the Hunger Games get hate for?
The character Rue being played by a black girl.
God bless Hollywood."We need someone to play a vile, unatractive, and exploitative orphange owner who's also an alcoholic."
"How about that chick who plays Princess Fiona?"
"Great!"
"And how do we modernize it?"
"Let's throw in references to Facebook and have Jay-Z do the soundtrack! The kids are into that, right?"

Anybody here ever see the vintage Mad Magazine parody of Little Orphan Annie, called "Little Orphan Melvin"? It's hilarious.
Who was also a black girl in the book...which these twits seemed to forget when they were complaining about it.![]()
