I'm sure those were dark times.

Remember the period when this thread was barely active and wasn't updated within nearly a year?lol
Good post, and an important point. Although this thread might not convince anybody that she has struck a great blow for feminism, it was heartening that the character was not objectified and that the slightly-exciting dominatrixy stuff was incidental rather than played up for titillation. Combined with Lois Lane, and Ma Kent, women got a pretty good treatment by blockbuster standards. Her BAMF scenes and screen presence aside, Faora is also a big leap forward for female characters in summer blockbusters. Her armor was feminine, yet practical; she was truly ruthless and didn't change through the movie. Before I saw the movie, I was kind of afraid that the character would receive the same treatment as Baroness in the 2009 GI Joe Movie. Thank Synder/Goyer/Nolan Faora was a true female villain.
She should join up for that female version of the expendables they're working on...
When the military were firing upon Faora with machine guns at point blank range and she just stood there motionless, you knew things were serious. She didn't fly in the movie, but she didn't have to. She put her prey down in the blink of an eye.
She should do more action flicks in the future. Hollywood is seriously lacking in the female action hero department.
She herself may not be aware of fans reaction to her role as Faora, but her agents should. They should get her more of that kind of role, aside from other, more normal roles.
Being involved in that female expendables would be a good start, though i don't know if that movie already in the casting stage. I know that Gina Carrano is involved, and probably Michelle Rodriguez...
As it should be.I remember Antje was asked in an interview for MOS whether she liked doing these big action movies. Her response (paraphrased) was that she had nothing against action, but didn't like it for it's own sake. Only when it comes with a solid story and characters.
Right there with you.Which is why I didn't care at all about Transformers 2 & 3. It was all about the action, with dumb characters and terrible stories. But in Man of Steel, where like the entire last 30 minutes were filled with action, it didn't tire me at all. Because I liked the characters and story so much, so I was actually invested.
Yeah, apparently her career wasn't really going anywhere and she was at a crossroads. And then MoS came along. Even more reason to love MoS.I read an article somewhere on Reddit saying she was going to quit acting at one point.
"Thank Zod" is my thing.Thank Zod she got the role.
