Have to say, Supergirl has always seemed to be on of DCs least useful characters, to me. Does anyone know of a really thoughtful and incisive Supergirl story, that deepens her character and justifies her continued existence?

A lot seems to have been done to render Powergirl into a proper character; maybe Supergirl has got lost along the way?

Supergirl has had some solid runs. Her character work in the DCAU has also had some great moments. Her time in JLU and Superman/Batman Apocalypse are great.

Never read the comic. Watched the animated film. Enjoy it quite a bit. I find that Kara is at her best when she test Clark.

The new supergirl series from DC 52 is actually pretty good.

Interesting character too...think Superman but without his moral compass,She doesn't really care about saving the world. She'll do it when it comes down to it, but it's not her main objective.

Possibly, since the government of then-East Germany was basically remote-controlled from Moscow but from what I've gathered so far it's rather the other way around:

No doubt about that, but I thought ScarJo did a decent enough job with portraying the Natasha Romanoff version of Black Widow that I wouldn't want anyone else to do that all over again.
If we're talking the Yelena Belova or even Monica Chang version, then I'm totally game.

Snyder/Goyer left this really open. I didn't even get the impression that the phantom zone was a finite/bounded "zone". Strictly guessing, it seemed to me like an alternate dimension/universe. The portal orbiting over Krypton probably opened to a part of the zone that is just open space, and so that's why Zod and Co. were placed in the Black Zero. It's anybody's guess what part of the phantom zone the portal that Col. Hardy opened leads to.

I don't even think Time exist in the phantom Zone. So it wouldn't matter. The Phantom is just a 1 dimensional space time void. Which is why you could be stuck in there for an eternity and never die.

in some versions there is a Sun, but its been described as a reflection of the real thing, meaning that no, a Kryptonian would not gain any powers from it and no Faora and co would not retain any powers they might have gained while under the yellow sun since the zone neutralizes them.
