Her reaction and the camera zooming in after Slade left at the end of the episode made me laugh too.

It wasn't edited very well.A person can only look surprised/bewildered for so long before it begins to look comical.

Really the whole scene made me laugh.

Slade's such a troll.

I don't know about that. I don't remember which episode that gif is from.

I think that gif is from the ep when Sarah brings Oliver to the family dinner….

Laurel, stop staring at the spot on your carpet and start taking this seriously. :woot:

Only losers use phones in comicbook shows. It's like Lau in TDK (and does anybody else find it funny that his actor now seems to be typecast as the guy who gets brutally killed by the villain in the superhero movie?)

And I couldn't help but think that Slade's last minute reveal comes off not only as a stereotypical soap opera moment, but one from a Spanish soap opera. It's the eyepatch and Bennett's animal magnetism. It must be hilariously cliched moment on Latino television.

"Oliver es el Arrow! Adios!"

"Que?!?"

He didn't die in TWS.

Great episode. But does anyone else think that last scene with Slade and Laurel was corny?

Slade shows up. "Oliver is the Arrow." Slade leaves.

He could have called her or something. I'm sure he could have figured out her number.

It wasn't just corny. It was pretty lousy writing all around.

Felt like an afterthought and then some.

It wasn't edited very well.A person can only look surprised/bewildered for so long before it begins to look comical.

Wasn't acted well, either.

That last scene with Slade and Laurel was brilliant imho. I haven't stood up and screamed in surprise/affirmation for a genre show in years, but Slade just jacked up Oliver's life by trolling his supporting cast with spoilers. It was awesome. I can't believe everyone is not talking about how awesome that scene was.

I didn't find it cheesy a bit of overkill only cause of how he utterly destroyed Oliver and team Arrow. He did everything he said he would when talking to brother blood. I think him outting the Arrow was about what he did to officer Lance. She loves Ollie but she loves her dad more and he is sitting in jail. A cop in jail isn't going to last long before he is shanked or worse.

I didn't hate that scene, but I didn't love it either... It definitely made me roll my eyes that Laurel just flung open her door without looking through the peephole or even asking who was there. I mean, she's been attacked in her home a number of times, and was just held hostage. What's the harm in being a little cautious?

Because it was kinda cheesy.

I don't know man, I didn't taste any cheese. I am totally amazed here, like "What is wrong with these people? Don't they know fine entertainment when they see it!?"

Yeah, that part was dumb. They could have set that up better. It's not like Deathstroke doesn't know how to pick a lock. They could have just as easily had Laurel come home and Slade in the kitchen eating a sandwich.

Well, cheesy doesn't necessarily = bad. It just didn't have the impact it should've had. Slade drove all the way to her house, didn't even have to break in, told Laurel that Oliver was the vigilante (without any proof), and then just walked out. All I could think about was how much gas money he probably wasted.

Yeah, that part was dumb.

It really was. As she was walking towards the door, I was like, "At least let her look through the peephole." And of course, she didn't. :funny:

They could have just as easily had Laurel come home and Slade in the kitchen eating a sandwich.

That would've been hilarious.

What I liked best about that scene was Laurel reaction to the news lol. Katie really played that well, her eyes were moving from side to side literally putting the pieces together in her head.

I was thinking something very similar to that. Having Laurel come home and Slade already waiting for her inside all comfy like would have been 1000x better.

"Ms Lance, you seem to be out of provolone." *wipes his mouth with a napkin*

:woot:

:funny: I never believed Agent Hill was this hilarious!

I've got an account on TV tropes and is specifically added a bit about the Mirakuru weaponizing Slade's trolling skills.

And as to why does Slade have no problem wasting gas driving over to Laurel's, well, to quote Michael Rosenbaum as Flash as Lex Luthor:

"'Cause I'm evil!"

I think another issue is that so many people know Ollie's the Arrow, that it doesn't come off as such a big deal.

Well it's also a case where his identity has been revealed to a character that EVERYONE knew was going to find out soon enough, anyway. It's Laurel. Her learning who he is was inevitable. It getting dropped on, say, Moira, would have been far more shocking. Both for the characters involved and the audience.

Laurel Lance finally finding out Oliver is the Arrow was a big moment, considering how important and integral the character is to the show and Oliver, and Cassidy completely dropped the ball.

You know what I just realized: why is Slade just now getting an army together when he's had 5 like several years of prep time? Shouldn't he have already had that together? Or am I nitpicking?

I think I'm nitpicking.

Maybe the Shado hallucinations went away when Slade thought that Ollie was still on the island. When Slade found out Ollie made it off the island and is back in Starling City, maybe the Shado visions came back
