So I watched tonight's episode having not seen the last five of season 4. My biggest takeaway from the episode was that almost everybody had regressed. Oliver was back killing, Lance back killing, and Diggle's back with the military. In someways it's nice and others it's feels like your treading water.

I agree. So, on her deathbed Laurel Lance reveals:

- she's in love with Oliver and has always been in love with Oliver, despite the fact that he's treated her pretty poorly, both before and after his time on the island;
- one of the reasons she became Black Canary, if not the primary reason, was to be closer to Oliver;
- she's an "Olicity" shipper and totally thinks that Oliver and Felicity are endgame; and
- when she dies, it's totally appropriate and respectful for Oliver to select some random person to assume the mantle of "Black Canary" because the Green Arrow must fight crime with a "canary" by his side.

Wow. Just wow. So much for Laurel Lance being revealed to be "alive and well".

Earth 2 and Flashpoint are two different things or existences. From the sounds of it, while it didn't have any impact tonight, I'm guessing the crossover will cause some kind of change that affects all shows and has its own changes, meaning we may see a Laurel an alternate timeline appear, possibly one where she was not involved with Oliver and doesn't have that history with him.

Or maybe, and this is mostly wishful thinking, she got on the boat with Oliver and was trained by the League, basically replacing Sara when she first re-appeared.
