It wasn't a bad finale, just a very rushed one.

Everyone really got something to do which was great, it was all just "you get 1 min, you get 1 min, everybody gets a min"

Besides the pacing, I think the only thing that disappointed me was that Quentin wasn't put in danger for Siren to save him. I am fine with everything else that happened with her in the episode. Her and Dinahs fight was GREAT. Their scream was GREAT.

Slades triplecross could be seen from a mile away lol. I wasnt even surprised one bit.

Malcolm is supposed to be "dead" but I doubt it. What I imagine is that the grabbed Digger and put him on the bomb as he did with Thea. Told Digger not to move while he ran away. Digger hesitated but was like "imma call yo bluff" and then BAM! Merlyn lives. Maybe loses a leg this time.

But now we have to wait 5 months to most likely get a REALLY lack luster explanation as to how everyone got off the island. That's a lot of people to survive an exploding island.

It's funny, Chase was THE ONLY ONE to get a full fledged ending. The ONLY one. lol.

Well, John Barrowman said he wasn't coming back in S6, so unless he returns in a future season, he's probably dead.

Unless there is a body, it's useless. This is the same exact thing as S1. I think he'll be back 2nd half of the season. If they really wanted to kill him off, they would've blew him up in front of us like they killed Laurel off in front of us.

Something I'm perplexed by:

So all that drama over Artemis betraying Oliver and she just gets locked in a cage for her trouble. No scene of Oliver's alleged "Interrogation" afterwards or any other resolution for that bit. WTF?

They bungled that storyline all season, so perhaps we shouldn't be surprised that it had a lame "resolution" as well.

It just reeks of "deleted scene for Blu-ray will explain it" IMO.

Everyone is probably huddled together in the ARGUS Bunker where Slade was held lol

It's weird because they made it seem like it was going to be a big deal in the first half of the season. But then they did very little with it in the second half. To the point that, at times, I almost wondered if they'd forgotten about it.

So I only need one question answered:

Is freaking Slade Wilson dead or can he return at some point (please be alive, please be alive)?

Fantastic. They nailed it.

Easily one of the series BEST episodes. Amazing rebound season for Arrow. I can't wait for Season 6.

Yup I'll say this was my second favorite finale, second only to the Season 1.

I thought about just finishing S5 and treating it as a series finale, but after the last scene, now I'm going to watch S6!

Ballsy ending there. Not everybody will return for the 6th season.

Adrian Chase must have had plenty of time to plant those charges all over the island.

Everyone had their moments, including Black Canary/ Black Siren and Talia/ Nyssa.

Oliver doesn't have to consult with Felicity since it's his child and not her's.

who do you all think will make it to Season 6?

My theory:

Survivors:

Merlyn
Felicity (The writers like her too much)
Thea
Diggle
Dinah (New Canary)
Nyssa
Deathstroke/Slade

Dead

Earth-2 Laurel (Black Siren) (With Chase dead and real Laurel dead, theres not much purpose to her now in any sneak plots)
Quentin (He was only in like half the episodes and otuside of his deputy mayor/alcohol/Rene stuff seems like hes outlived his usefulness)

Rene (IMO the character was kinda one note until the foster daughter bit towards the end.)
Curtis (H'es only there for the T-spheres. Felicity's got the tech stuff, and Ollie/Dig/Dinah can do fights better so.
Evelyn Sharp (Her betrayal was interesting in the first half of the season, but I feel the writers forgot about her and rushed her in to the last few episodes. She doenst even fight anyone , just stuck in a cage lol)

Talia
Harkness (Merlyn probably got him to take the brunt of the land mine)

William's mom (If dead, William could be under Ollies care permanently and Felicity could be his mother figure?)

I accept that Talia had to lose, but I thought she would be more competitive against Nyssa. She flat out jobbed. :csad:

The Nyssa/Talia fight was as fast as a gif lol. I am glad that Nyssa finally gets a win under her belt but the fact that Talia trained Oliver and Chase who seemingly cant be defeated by anyone, her being defeated by her sister didn't make much sense.

Did they really job Talia to Nyssa? and make it completely one sided....

No love for Bruce's baby mama...

I don't know why these DC CW shows think ending with a main character disappearing or dying is a cliffhanger. We know none of the important characters died like Felicity, Dig, Lance, Curtis, etc. Only person that probably died was Artemis dumbass since she was in a cage. Merlin probably escaped somehow, he is a master at that and has avoided death 2-3 times.

An she was trained by Ras probably his favorite daughter so she was well trained. Not like I cared for this Talia she was useless this season and had no impact in the flashbacks.

No way Black Siren's dead; she's confirmed as a regular next season.

Same for Quentin, since they'll want to play off his relationship with Siren.

Rene's confirmed as a series regular; he's not dead.

I doubt they're done with Talia. She could be dead, but doubtful. I think we'll see more of her.

Curtis I'd give good odds for surviving, but higher odds of dying than Quentin.

Harkness has good odds of dying, I think.

Evelyn likewise has good odds of being dead, but seeing as she's just a kid they might not want her offed. We'll see.

Samantha, I think has a pretty big chance of dying, because I think next season will have a focus on Oliver being a father. If that's so, I can't see Samantha leaving William to Oliver, so she'd have to be dead. But I don't know; that's my own speculation.

Merlyn, I think, is dead. Barrowman's supposedly not returning next season, so he's most likely dead.

Thea, Diggle, Felicity, and Dinah are all next to 100% chance alive. For any of them to be dead would defy all my expectations. Nyssa I doubt is dead and Slade I hope isn't dead (considering they finally convinced Manu to return, I would be really sad if they straight killed him off).

Someone mentioned Slade's "triple-cross." So Slade "betrays" Oliver but then turns back and betrays Chase/Talia? I can totally see him doing that.

Loved this finale, I do wish these shows would stop with these cliffhangers though, we know the main cast is safe, they aren't fooling anyone, though at least here it gives them the potential to open S6 with some emotional side character deaths. Chase may well be my favorite villain the show has ever had, Segarra did a fantastic job throughout the season, and I liked their handling of all the other characters, they kept the main focus on Oliver, but they still managed to give us some great moments with Siren, Slade, Nyssa, Merlin.

As always, fantastic to see Manu on the show, I hope they don't decide to have him be dead in the S6 premiere.

Arrow's Season 5 was by far the strongest season finale out of ALL 4 DCTV shows on the CW Network.

I really hope that the show doesn't regress back to its Season 3 and 4 days.

Is Mon-El really that main of a character though?

If they want to be really bold it would be interesting if everyone else did die and Oliver went back to being a lone vigilante.

Season 5 was so good it is making season 3 & 4 fade away as just a bad memory.

Totally agree, I think this is the strongest finale for Arrow so far, and one of the strongest CW finales.

Great to see Slade back, and this time with his marbles - plus Malcolm and Nyssa are always great guest characters.

All in all an epic finale.
