Arrow Season 5 Episode 23-Lian Yu

DEATHSTROKE, NYSSA AL GHUL, MERLYN AND DIGGER HARKNESS JOIN OLVER’S BATTLE AGAINST PROMETHEUS — The battle between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra) culminates in a final epic battle on Lian Yu. After recent events, Oliver decides to recruit a group of unlikely allies — Slade (guest star Manu Bennett), Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law), Merlyn (John Barrowman) and Digger Harkness (guest star Nick E. Tarabay) — to defeat Chase. However, Chase has his own army – Black Siren (guest star Katie Cassidy), Evelyn Sharp (guest star Madison McLaughlin) and Talia al Ghul (guest star Lexa Doig) — and the forces collide in an explosive season finale. It's kind of interesting on how the show didn't give Chase a male ally.

And are we ever going to find out on who Vigilante really is?

Dig and Curtis are on the island so they'll be getting their hands dirty. Boomerang will probably be fighting off Talias henchmen.

Black canary vs black siren. Read Roy might make an appearance as well. Maybe boomerang, Roy and team arrow against henchmen.

Now who of these main names die?
Merlyn is confirmed. Rumor Roy if he shows. I would assume Prometheus. I hope Evelyn! I'm ok with everyone else remaining alive.

This is going to be quite an epic season finale. Looking forward to Black Canary Vs. Black Siren and Talia Al Ghul Vs. Nyssa Al Ghul.

So Manu Bennett has made his return. I hope he returns for the 6th season.

I also hope the battle spills all over the island and not in one place.

I thought her role was fine. Willa and Blackthorne were only contracted for like 13 episodes this year.

So it looks like there's a confrontation at Talia's monastery first, with Oliver vs. Prometheus, Slade vs. Siren/Thugs, and Nyssa vs. Talia. DD vs. Siren doesn't look like it's on Lian Yu, either. That's good: it means we've seen pretty much none of the climax fight on the island yet. That has me pumped.

I was looking at the finale pictures and it is ridiculous and funny that they have "Slade" there amongst everyone with his helmet lol. It just takes the power out of it.

I just don't understand why Slade would ever help Oliver.

Oliver: "I need your help. This guy named Prometheus wants to destroy me and kill all my friends"
Slade: "Great. I hope he wins. Remember when I tried that? Good times."

Or, more optimistically, a few years in a cell detoxing from the mirakuru have helped him come to his senses, so he doesn't hate Ollie. . . as much.

Sure. I mean it's possible that he made a deal with Oliver to help him and then be able to leave. But I think Slade double crossing them would be too much of a thing to risk.

I hope the trailer isn't giving away all the best Manu moments. I'm so psyched for this episode but I'm going to be a bit bummed if I watch the episode and all of Manu's stuff was in that trailer.

Boomerang's comment was hilarious yet cutting. It really doesn't track that Oliver trusts Slade more than Digger–but I guess with their history, Oliver still would tend to think of Slade as the brother he bonded with on Lian Yu, not the genocidal maniac who killed his mother.

Manu filmed for 1 or 2 days so I I think we probably saw a lot of his helmetless scenes through the trailers sadly.

I'm more inclined to think Ollie's going to tell Slade there's a spoiled Russian brat claiming to be his nemesis and has pissed him off so badly he wants to introduce him to Slade so he can fully understand how badly wrong he truly is!��

As for Digger it's so he keeps Slade wondering wtf?!!��

I can see Slade quite happy to wipe the floor with Prometheus's goons but what about Slade's kids?

Is this the first time they actually keep to continuity?!

Is it bad that I hope Slade survives but Ollie lets him go free because he'd rather have Slade as a recurring nemesis than that idiot!

Can see him use Digger as an explanation why he keeps his word!

That's exactly how I feel about Prometheus!��

Yeah, technically for them to keep canon, Slade has to survive at least long enough to father a second son–Grant Wilson, who we saw in LOT. His son Joe died in the Arrow - Vengeance novel, and there's an age discrepancy between him and Grant anyway.
