Arrowverse General Arrowverse Watching Order 2.0

Updated through this week. Not a lot to go on yet since we're only one episode in.

With Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne in a news paper being pictured on set, are you considering adding it into your watch list?

I'm considering it, but like with Brandon Routh and Burt Ward we have to wait to see if it's confirmed they are specifically playing a continuation of their previous characters or if they're playing unrelated versions in homage to the originals.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'm still debating whether to add Smallville/Birds of Prey into my watch list if it is only going to be a 30 second nod to that show before that universe is destroyed

Since they've been explicitly confirmed as the characters from their respective shows, for me Smallville and Birds of Prey are definitely in. And I still don't even like Smallville that much (struggling through the end of season 1 on my rewatch right now).

I'm struggling to even get started on Smallville apparently it picks up....
Out of interest what's your opinion on Lucifer possibly appearing in the crossover?

Added all the Smallville episodes and titles. I used this:
Reading/Viewing Order

But without the comics since it's a viewing order and not a reading order.

If anyone has any advice or disagreements, feel free.

Hi, first of all, thank you for your awesome work!
About comics and other media, well, I personally like it! haha I once did a timeline for Starcraft and I put EVERYTHING on it (altough I cound't read all the books because most of then are unavailable in my country, but I've read all the manga, comics, short stories, etc.). I also kind of started watching and reading the canon media of Star Wars (almost gave up) and the MCU (almost finished), for example. With the Infinite Crisis coming, I just got excited to rewatch Smallville and watch all the CW series (since I still only watched season 1 and maybe 2 of Arrow). I would put the comics and books too on the timeline, but it's your choice... I am a Lore devourer as you can see hahaha

Smallville is pretty rough to get into. The first three seasons are very "Monster of the week" styled episodes. If you are struggling, I would say you probably won't get through it.
It does pick up, but then it gets **** again before picking back up in the final stretch. The last three (I think) seasons, when he gets to Metropolis are a lot better in my opinion. You could probably start there if you wanted to, honestly.

For real though, these crossovers tend to focus on the main characters of the respective shows. I doubt we'll have more than some small cameos. It's like how the 90's Flash show is considered canon now in the Arrowverse but it has zero baring on the overall plot.
We're all getting ridiculously hype, and rightfully so. But surely they aren't going to expect that we know all the plot intricacies, or lack thereof, of Smallville, or freaking Lucifer.

Just my two cents.

Hello, I am new to the Arrowverse series and plan to use this list (great work btw), but I have a problem.
I'm still in Arrrow season 2 but realized that here in Mexico, Netflix only has 6 Arrow seasons, 4 Flash seasons and 3 Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow seasons. So would you mind telling me where you watch the series? Is it in normal television or a streaming service? If so, what's the name of the channel or service? The website CWSeed doesn't work in my country either for legal reasons :(

This was actually about right at the time you posted. Flash started two years after Arrow, and both Supergirl and Legends started the following year. Netflix tends to get the most recent (which would be Year 7) year around 3-4 months after it airs. Since they ended at the end of May, I wouldn't expect Year 7 to show up until around August/September, and you had posted in July. Check again, and the "new" season should be added by now. Just be aware that if Netflix is the only source you have, you will have to wait until around August/September of 2020 to view any of the Year 8 episodes, even though they've already begun to air.

If you meant that the other (older) shows (Flash '90 or Smallville, for example) listed as "Year Zero" (which aired in the past and are not currently airing on the CW) are not available on Netflix, then I'm sorry but you will have to find them elsewhere and we can't really help you with that here. There are some (possibly less-legitimate) streaming sites you could probably find easily by just searching for the name of the show you're looking for. Although, last time I checked (which I admit was several months ago) Netflix did still have Black Lightning and Constantine. They may have dropped Constantine by now though since it's now considered an "old" show.

Updated through last night.

The Batwoman pilot shows events from prior to Elseworlds but the narration is present day looking back, so I kept it with this year's shows.
I know you've said you're going to leave Batwoman in 'Year 8' however if the majority of the season takes place pre-Elseworlds do you think you'll move it?

Updated through this week's episodes.

Not a lot to go on right now so everything is subject to change.

So I had a thought that maybe The Human Target (2010) should be part of year zero. Christopher Chance has been in Arrow and Mark Valley who played Chance in the 2010 series also played Anton Slater, the lawyer in Flash S04E10.

No, there has to be something more substantial than that. Plenty of actors have been in more than one series, it doesn't mean they're related unless they're playing doppelgangers or there's some more direct reference.

The second Flash episode of this season should be marked 6.02 not 6.05. I assume that was just a typo.

Updated to current.

Not much to go on so far, but early season orders always change a lot so don't be shocked if you check back in a couple weeks and it looks really different.

Still debating as to whether or not to place the early Batwoman S1 episodes prior to Elseworlds or to just leave them in the beginning of the current year. Leaning towards the former.

Bloody hell mate I got to applaud you for this. You’ve even added in the Chloe chronicles you've given this tremendous effort. Hats off to you sir. :applaud

I think episodes 1-3 were all prior to Elseworlds whereas episode 4 was post. Pretty sure that’s what those that worked on it said.

They said Elseworlds was after ep 4. Episode 5 takes place 2 weeks after Elseworlds since it mentions the Arkham breakout, so we've still got a big time jump that needs to take place.

I'm thinking I might just do away with the "year" concept since the Batwoman timeline is so fractured and something similar happened with an earlier season of Supergirl (the beginning of one season of Supergirl actually picked up right where the other left off and didn't catch up to the other shows for weeks).

I think the Year concept has worked well up to this point with Arrow being each individual year, but with the watch order I'm trying to put together for my brother and I I've started with season 1 of Smallville as year 1 then gone on from there with arrow starting the the 'year' after smallville finished (if that makes sense) with 90s flash and Birds of Prey and Gotham all being within the 'Smallville years'. I'm also adding other DC properties like Swampthing, Preacher, Lucifer (possibly showing up in Crisis?) and Gotham before the crisis so in my mind those worlds got destroyed in crisis.

I'll still leave it in, with Lucifer finishing next season it fits into my watch cannon with shows that have finished going before crisis and those worlds being destroyed before or in crisis.

-added Superman, Superman II, and Superman Returns to the order. Skipped Superman III, IV, and Supergirl because Superman Returrns is a direct sequel to II which ignores the other three

-got rid of the year concept and placed the episodes of Supergirl and Batwoman which didn't fit into the year concept back to where they fit in the timeline

So I'm into season 9 of Smallville.

I'm going to have to say season 6 was the best season so far. It's almost decent on its own, but compared to the rest of the show's seasons it's pretty damn good.

Season 8 was brutal. That was a terrible take on Doomsday, and the fights are so anticlimactic in this show.
