I don't believe they should go backward in AC to ancient Alexandriat will be a step down in gameplay. We are talking about no hookblade, double blade,poison darts and etc. I believe they need to go forward constantly improving the assassins tech. Some of that tech was rediscovered by Altair however Micheanglo also created some of that tech.

If they take any weapons or gadgets away from any future Assassins, I hardly think Ubisoft wouldn't compensate by adding something else new or different or expanding on another feature.

For instance, what if a particular Assassin ISN'T a mentor or Master? They wouldn't need the Medditerranean Defense/Assassin Brotherhood stuff.

I think the series should and will be continuously moving forward in terms of gameplay variety and design, but that doesn't necessarily mean the timeline has to be completely linear. I mean, look at ACR. The segments as Altair didn't feel any less satisfying, and he didn't have bombs, hookblade or poison. It's all in the quality of design, not the tools and gimmickry.

Like Wolvieboy said, it's not the tools and gimmickry that make the game. I'm sure that if AC3 includes sequences that are *pre-*Altair, like ancient Egypt, the (proto-)Assassins will have access to their own special Bronze Age gadgets to give them the edge over their enemies.

To explain Desmond's relationship to Eve? Considering he is some sort of Adam reincarnate.

But why does that have to be explained? We already know all that. Adam and Eve were the first Assassins, or rather where the bloodline for the first Assassins came from, since they were the link containing the DNA of those who came before.

The point is, we know his relationship to Eve and Adam, they are his ancestors. When sixteen mentions her, I don't think it's quite so literal, rather informing Desmond that he and Eve share DNA, which is the key to being able to activate the temples.

You know what I'd like to see storywise for AC3? A storyline that goes *backwards* in time. Desmond is still the central overarching plotline, but you go through a series of ancestral DNA missions at various points in history, beginning in the 21st century, then back in the 20th century sometime, then back in, say, the French Revolution, on back to a quickie in Ezio's age and Altair's, on to ancient Egypt, etc., until it culminates in the Adam & Eve revolution.

She's talking about her quest to save her village from the evil emperor. Kinda generic, I know, but I don't know if I remember any ancient/semi-ancient China-based game of any quality has ever come out. The Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon game was decent for what it was, but it wasn't nearly as expansive as an AC game would be.

And you KNOW there's so much action, intrigue and rich environments that can be had in that world.

It comes back to what I mentioned earlier: Her descendant could be one of the ones helping Desmond.

Not necessarily suggesting this for ACIII, since I feel that should be Desmond-heavy, but further beyond that.

Well obviously the idea of China as a setting has occured to them, but i'm not reading too much into the use of that character. I thought she was implemented well but I dont think we'll see her again

AC3 should feature Japanese, French, Egyptian and American settings. It's needed at this point, in my opinion. 2012 is approaching, so why not go out with a bang?

Make Desmond the main focus but add a few more minor characters and settings to lead up to the finale.

It was announced it would come out before December 21st, 2012 but no exact date was given. Still, I would liked something new as well.

Think about it this way... We haven't seen anything about this game but we know they've been working on it for 3 years. We now have a release date, October. They've also announced more Desmond Single Player DLC for Revelations. They're clearly gearing up for a lot of activity and when we get the inevitable teaser or first look in a month from now and are blown away by the first numbered AC game since we first met Ezio, we're only going to have to wait half a year.

That sounds absolutely fantastic! It must happen!!! I believe it was established in ACII that George Washington was in possession of an Apple of Eden.
I think it would awesome if the game was taking place during the Revolution, with Cornwallis as the main Templar enemy, and the Assassin has a hand in many events, like the Boston Massacre, the Battle of Lexington and Concord, and Yorktown. I hope there are models of Williamsburg, Boston, Philadelphia, and Norfolk.
