Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

That really annoys me about the PS3 exclusive. I'd get it on PS3 just for that, except all my friends are on xbox and there is obviously a strong multiplayer focus on this game. Pretty silly decision if you ask me.

It's not a silly decision for the company. Ubisoft is trying to make up for what was apparently a bad PS3 version of AC2, by focusing on the PS3 version. So, the PS3 had the multiplayer beta and is getting free DLC.

Sony has been securing a bunch of little exclusives for multiplatform titles lately.

I can understand that reason, but I still think it's kinda silly. Considering this is marketed as a multiplayer game, it's not just the consumers console that is taken into account with their purchase but what console their friends are using. It's kinda annoying that they add something like that in their. I find these days, with alot of games, there are so many ridiculous exclusives I never feel like i'm getting a full game anymore. So between the extra PS3 levels, and the pre order and the collectors edition levels, how much of the game am I actually missing by getting the standard 360 version?

The free DLC is the only known difference between the PS3 and 360 versions. The DLC is probably short and has little to do with the main game, and will probably be released later (for money) on the 360. If playing with your friends is what matters, than just get the 360 version and enjoy the game.

You could also try to build up a community of people you play with on both consoles, that way the multiplayer won't come into the decision making. There are plenty of people from these forums that are strictly PS3 users.

So, i'm actually going to Italy on Saturday, 3 week holiday. Funnily enough, we're actually going to most of the places from AC 2 (and Rome obviously). We're staying in a villa in Tuscany that is like 20 minutes away from Monteriggioni. How freaking cool is that? I'm totally going to visit all the key locations from the game and just nerd out lol.

Yea thats pretty damn awesome man. Id love to visit Italy. Unfortunately, it doesnt look like ill be leaving the east coast of the US any time soon.

I went to Italy in 08 so it was neat seeing the sites again in AC2.

Yeah, it's gonna be weird, because i'll be seeing all these places i've only ever seen in a video game, and then when I get back and buy Brotherhood, i'll be playing a game set in a location that i was at only days previous.

you're not missing any of the main game....most DLC is extra material or in some cases, parts of the game that weren't ready or maybe some extra ideas floated around during development

ever since DLC has hit big, the fandom has taken this stance that because a game has DLC, they are being "cheated" out of a whole game

I have a 360 and most any DLC I have gotten for any game is extra material, with the one exception of the Kasumi DLC for Mass Effect 2 as she was supposed to be in the main game, but her story and stuff was not fleshed out in time

My attitude isn't that i'm 'being cheated a full game'. I love Assassins Creed, and i want to get as much gameplay as possible out of it, but 360 is my primary console for multiplayer games. So basically this exclusive DLC is making me choose between whether I want to enjoy the single player or the multiplayer, and that annoys me.

you're telling yourself all this, that this small bit of DLC is some sort of crucial keystone in your enjoyment of the game and without it, its all ruined

....in short, yank your head out of your arse and enjoy the game

Given what UbiSoft did with AC2, remove 2 sections from the middle of the campaign and sell them as DLC, I wouldn't count on it not being part of the main game.

As for you WolvieBoy, wait until the game comes out and find out what the DLC actually is. If you want it, get the PS3 version. If you don't, get the 360. Though I'd say there is a 99.99% chance that it ends up on the 360.

I don't think they were "removed" though.....if you play the game itself, the time jump from 11 to 14 fits in to that story, you see Ezio realize that he is part of a larger brotherhood

I think both Forli and Bonfire of the Vanities (especially considering how long Bonfire is, in terms of playtime) were ideas they didn't have time for during the development of the main game

Ubisoft already said in an interview that they ran out of time so they kept it for DLC. They said that round about the time the second memory was released.

Don't tell me what i'm thinking, I know it will more or less be some side missions or whatnot, but thats the only DLC I ever care about in games, and regardless of how shallow it is, I've always liked any additions or continuations for a story. I never said it would be 'ruined' without it, I just hate any sort of 'exclusive' that makes people choose between consoles, and helps ignite the whole stupid 'console war', which is such a ridiculous concept, purely designed by people in marketing. And it annoys me that Ubisoft agreed to it. It's not game breaking, just annoying.

Also, no reason to be a *****e, telling me to pull my head out of my arse. You feel differently, great, I wouldn't expect anything different on a forum made up of a collective of many differing opinions, except i'm not going to be a jerk to someone with something to say that contradicts me.

The DLC content is 330 MB in size, so it's not as expansive as the DLC content for AC2. It has you protect some scientists that are in danger of being killed by the Catholic Church.

Anyone know of if the Raiden skin has any special features?

the game comes out in 2 days and IM not sure if Im ready to get it yet

If you ain't ready now, you'll never be. Suck it up soldier.
Im still playing the games I got last month, Dead Rising 2 and Blur and Ive barely touched NBA 2K11. I used to get every game I want as soon as they come out but doing so, made me ignore ones I had and not get the most out of it. I spend more time with my games now and dont get a game until Im ready to play it bc the worse is to buy a game and just let it sit on the shelf. By the time Im ready to play, the price would have dropped down. The only reason Im contemplating picking it upis bc I have TRU credit and they are offering a $20 gift card if you buy it on release day

There's no point in buying a UbiSoft game on release date. I guarantee it will be $35 sometime between now and the end of the year. I really liked AC2, but I have other games to play and there's no point in buying a game I know will be $20 cheaper very soon.

Four days for the UK release, I get so giddy before the release of an Assassin's Creed game. I've been trying to max out trophies to keep myself occupied and plat'd ACII and GOW3, now 80% on Fallout: New Vegas and I'm just dying to play more of Ezio's story. I wonder if Altair will cameo again?

I think ill be picking it up on Tuesday, but like some others here, im still playing other titles at the moment.

I just picked up my collectors edition for my PSTriple, it's freaking awesome,:up: the map is autographed by the devs, which was a nice surprise!!!:awesome::up: I also picked up Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit!!!:D:up: Anyways I'll be playing it a little later, I have to take my mother to a doctor's appointment in about an hour,:argh: love ya Mom lol,:hrt: so I'll post my thoughts when I get a chance to play it!!!:awesome::up:

The map isn't autographed, they just printed their signatures on it.
