Assassins Creed Odyssey

So here's a little PSA for y'all. When looting a legendary chest at level 50, change the difficulty to nightmare, and the loot will always be level 50, rather than a few levels below.

I'm playing on easy (stupid enemy scaling) and somehow I had a whole armor set retroactively upgrade to level 50 when I acquired the final piece. Mist of the pieces I acquired at lower levels in the 40s. But I was level 50 when I got the final piece and the whole damn set in my inventory jumped to level 50. I've never had that happen with any other armor and I'm wondering if it was some sort of glitch.

Generally the US's internet infrastructure is garbage and lagging behind the rest of the first world, and its cost prohibitive. Until the US drags its ass out of the internet dark ages streaming becoming the standard is nothing but a niche tech and pipe dream.

Not a glitch, it's supposed to happen. It's the reason I leveled up to 50 as soon as possible.

How about that ending?! Major spoilers ahead. If you havent defeated the whole Cult of Kosmos and found all the artifacts for Kassie's father dont open the spoiler tag.

Atlantis and 2500 year old Kassandra!:thud:Its crazy and sad. Shes seen and experienced so much.

And did yall catch the hints spread throughout the game that the real world may be a simulation possibly created by the Isu?! A simulation like the animus. Reality may not even be reality. How crazy would it be if this whole time, all the other games, were nothing but simulations created by the Isu. It would certainly explain the hints of time travel that have been popping up in this game and Origins. And how characters like Kassie and Ezio were able to see glimpses of different time periods. Kassie sees colonial America, 19th century London, the Golden Age of pirates, and Egypt during Bayak's life. If everything is an Isu simulation then it's not really time travel. Its just glimpses at other Isu simulations. This would flip the whole franchise on its head.

But if it's not a simulation then there is time exploration of some sort. The Isu say they exist outside of time. There is no past, present, and future for them and they can see it all. Which is how their artifacts can show people the past and future. And how the Isu speak to people in the future.

And Pythagoras/the Pyramid tells Kassie that she needs to use the staff to heal the "rift" in the Universe which makes me think someone has already been manipulating and playing with time. Possibly the Isuand maybe even the Templars. And Kassie tells Layla that she is the one in the Prophecy. And to destroy them all. Does Kassie mean destroy the Assassins and the Templars? Or to destroy the Isu? Can Layla somehow use the staff to go back or go outside of time and kill the Isu and stop their meddling once and for all?

This is crazy.

Well I got the platinum yesterday. Just under a month, got my first trophy on October 5th.

I'm kinda at a standstill now, there's quite a few side quests I haven't done. But I already have max level gear and weapons, and those quests only reward common and epic stuff.

The fact that Ubisoft officially announced that there will be no new Assassin's Creed games next year gives the Ubisoft Quebec an unprecedented opportunity to support their critically acclaimed Assassin's Creed Odyssey for at least two years. With a lot of new content and game feature additions on the horizon, Ubisoft has unveiled what they actually have in store this November.

First of all, you will have a chance to check out two free DLC in the Lost Tales of Greece mini-series, The Show Must Go On and Divine Intervention. The first one will bring you back to the Battle of 300 where you'll step into the shoes of an actor playing King Leonidas. The Divine DLC will have you meet a mysterious woman who will test your qualities through several divine trials.

While the epic mercenary events have been temporarily removed from the game altogether until the technical issues are resolved, a new epic ship will show up and you will be tasked to hunt the argosy down. Defeating those challenging adversaries will reward you not only with Orichalcum to use at the Oikos of the Olympians merchant, but also with a new ship design or a new piece of equipment.

Finally, a new Mythical Creature, Steropes the Cyclops, will be waiting for you in his lair on November 13. A new quest named The Lightning Bringer will appear in your quest log and will take you to the one-eyed monster. Defeating him will be a high-level challenge, and should you manage to succeed you will be rewarded with a Legendary Bow. There will be no time limit, so prepare properly and take it down at your own pace. That's not all, and you can check out full notes on this month's update HERE.

Take control of your destiny and write your own epic odyssey as you journey to become a legendary Spartan hero. Live incredible adventures in a world where every choice matters. Rejected by your family, you must embark on an adventure from outcast mercenary to legendary Spartan hero to uncover the truth about your past.

If only I have Black Friday sale from where I live. Origins is still over $40 from my nearest store.

The Devs overseeing the Post Launch content has confirmed that an option to turn off Auto Enemy scaling is going to be added to the game.:db:

Hoping to pick this up on BF for $30. While I've rented all of the recent releases from the main series, this will be the first one I've purchased since Black Flag. I'm just not sure I'll be able to complete the game in enough time to keep the rental costs down, and it's good enough reviews that I can justify paying half price even if I end up not liking it. I just wish Red Dead was on sale, too.

It took me 88 hours over 3 weeks to complete the three main plotlines. That was with me doing minimal side quests.

First the Epic Mercenary live events have to be put on hold indefinitely and now the Steropes cyclops live event (which you can only do once) is a dud. Ubi said they weren't doing an AC game next year because they wanted to focus on releasing live events for Odyssey, but so far this is pitiful. If they arent going to do an AC next year these live events should have been massive and be more than just reskined assets from the main game. Stop being lazy and cheap, Ubi.

The ability to change enemy scaling is being added to the game on January 15.

It will have 4 options: default, heavy, medium, and light. Apparently it cant be turned off entirely.:wall::rant:

Two new mercenary tiers are also being added.

So I'm starting to get into playing this... I've made it to Phokis and started tackling various areas within it. Can I just say, holy crap that stupid ass boar in the north west area of the Sacred Lands of Apollo (the one that kicks off the Goddesses' Hunt questline)? Even turning the level scaling to light (so enemies could be up to 2 levels below me) and I kept dying (it was the boar's stupid cronies that it would call that would do it). I'm not an overly skilled gamer when it comes to fight strategy when a lot of enemies are around. Typically, if I start to get overwhelmed, I run away... problem here is, if you leave the fight area, it resets the big boar's health.

Finally looked online for tips and saw one about a ledge within the boar's cave. Was able to get there and get on it (not easy as Kassandra would sometimes climb too high or to the side - but so long as I was holding onto the wall, the boar didn't seem to damage me at all) and just plug away with the 'devastating shot' ability (I also saw some say that if you get a bounty on your head and get the bounty hunter(s)/mercenaries to follow you up there/or lead some enemy soldiers up to the boar's territory - they'll take out the boar for you and then you just have to take out the bounty hunters/soldiers). <--- so if anyone is like me and stuck on that part, there's some tips.

Don't know how I feel about the game yet. I liked Origins well enough, this one though... it almost feels like the world is too big and/or there's too much to do (I'm someone that likes to complete every point of interest in a location that I can, so it's taking me a long time (it feels like) to clear areas out before proceeding (and I know some of that's me - not to mention, I can only really play on the weekend)

I have started it two days ago and i dont feel it to be honest.
Not like Origins, this feels less polished and thought through.
I dont know, hard to say.

Im not really feeling the combat at the moment.
I was fighting that bounty hunter you get naturally in the first hour or so, and i felt completely outleveled...despite being just 1 level beyond the guy.
In Origins i didnt had any problems with such enemies with Bayek, but here i had to kick him down a ledge so that he loses a lot of his health.

Unbalanced is what i would call the game after the first 2 hours, there is so much stuff that doesnt add up at the moment...but despite all that its still a fun game to play somehow.
But maybe i only feel this way because before that i played God of War and Red dead Redemption 2 and those were incredible polished and balanced games.

Yeah, the bounty hunters I do the attack and run away technique. In Megaris, anytime I'd get one (or seemingly often - 2 at a time) after me, I'd book it toward the bay (or anywhere with dive-able water) even with them following me because that way, if I started to get overwhelmed I could dive into the water (and get out of range of any of their arrows) and wait for my health to regenerate before getting back out and plugging away at them some more (and then rinse and repeat)

A positive I've come to like though, I do like that you can customize the look of your gear (change it from the default). Perhaps I'm weird, but other games I will avoid equipping certain pieces of gear (even if they have bit better stats than what I've currently equipped) just because I really don't like the way it makes my character look. So the ability now to get a good piece of (ugly) gear, and be able to change the look to something you do like is a plus in my eyes.

I had a lot more fun with those guys in Origins because despite being 3-4 levels above me, i seemed to do decent enough damage and the fights in general felt smoother.
Here it feels a bit unpolished...but the Spartan Kick is probably the coolest thing ever.
I cant wait to fully upgrade it and kick people through the air. XD

Oh yeah, its why i ran around in the witcher 3 most of the time in Geralts start armor until i found the witcher school gears.
I never really focus completely on stats, its always the visual for me...dont care if it makes me weaker or so...i just want my character look good when i have to look at the character for 8+ hours. :)
