Bisexuality on a kids' cartoon? Won't that destroy America? The Roman Empire ended when they grew more permissive of homosexuality.

;-)

It's true, though. Asami spent way more time this book with Korra than most characters I think, either just hanging out or doing some plot specific mission. Then that moment at the end where Asami was just about saying "I'll always be there for you, ect.", it could easily be embellished on next season, if they chose to go that route, and it wouldn't actually come off as forced or similar.

Forced? No. Do they need to do that? No. Cause to me, that just shows that Korra and Asami are really truly friends. It's like Korra said in the beginning of the season, she doesn't have many female friends. Asami can be the foil she needs friend wise that Mako, Bolin, and even Jinora and Ikki can't be.

Just my opinion.

Oh, I'm not advocating it in the least. I just found that the moment at the end of the episode curious, and looking back, you can see how it could actually lead to something. Add in this show features people on the cusp of young adulthood and not kids and, I don't know... Could they, would they, have the testicular fortitude to do something like that?

I do think it would be kind of lazy writing that two characters who have shown no sign of being anything but being clearly heterosexual are suddenly attracted to each other. One, okay. But both?

Though it's no lazier than the writing in Season I suppose.

Does anyone else think we'll get either a hobbled Korra, a time skip or both for the start of book 3?

It's not exceptional for bisexual people to live heterosexual lives for many years prior to becoming bisexual.

Unless you subscribe to the "all women are bisexual" theory, both suddenly being bi is a bit hard to swallow.

This is partly why I can see it as a possibility. These are YOUNG people that are just now coming into their own.

I know people who are bi when they were older (i.e. 25) that lived a heterosexual life when they were teens and in their early 20s. Sexuality can be complicated and not everybody is born knowing all the answers. Sometimes people learn the answers as they age.

really enjoyed the finale and was surprised at the state Korra's in the end.

next season is the last one?

I like that Korra is physically spent at the end of her Book long arcs. That being said, could someone with more knowledge on the subject tell us all what the long term effects Korra could suffer from in regards to her mercury/heavy metal poisoning? Could she be in for a long, possibly lifetime long hobbling?

And just for kicks, here's some fine tributes:

Book One. Spoilers if you haven't seen it yet. [YT]UEUy8BIdNs4[/YT]

Book Two. Again, spoilers if you haven't seen it. [YT]baUlaU2GjjQ[/YT]

A tribute to Wan. I'd love to see something that expands on his story both before leaving his Lion Turtle city and after taking on his role as the Avatar. [YT]Tyb2wvOlzvU[/YT]

Too old to travel maybe.

I still find it odd that they had Zuko sit out this fight.

Maybe they didn't want the Red Lotus to be overwhelmed.

Might be the storyteller's just anting to have a focused plot.

Zuko going back to the capitol to warn his daughter would be a simple plot device to have a more focused battle.

He went back to protect his daughter and assumed that group can handle those four. There are more Red Lotus members than those 4 benders.

I do hope we see him go all out in the next season. Considering what he was capable of in the original, and what his father could do, he should be an even match for any major villain.

I'm guessing we'll meet the new Fire Lord (or Lady) in the next season.

Yeah, I definitely see them going to the Fire Nation next season.

They spent Book 1 in Republic City
Book 2 with the Water Tribe
Book 3 with Earth Kingdom and at the Air Temple

So Book 4 has to be Fire Nation.
