Anyone thinks we'll have a new show? This universe has such potential. I wonder if this is completely stuck at Nickelodeon or if they could bring it to Netflix.

I think I'd rather go for a new game as this point. Something similar to Kotor or Dragon Age would be pretty cool.
If a new show were to happen it would be nice to have a smaller story centered around someone who is not the new avatar for a change.

i doubt we will see a new show from nick after the way they treated korra towards the end.

i would love it if netflix bought the rights. some of the people that worked on korra are currently making voltron for netflix. i could see them making a good avatar show if bryke didn't want to be involved.

Sadly I think the creators have fully moved on.

Im still amazed that Nickelodeon hasn't attempted to reboot the movie.

I think when they signed the contract they signed everything over to Viacom. I don't see a show happening anytime soon but you can read the comics, I think they're pretty good. It has the same feel of the show.

Aaron Ehasz and Giancarlo Volpe from The Last Airbender, as well as some former TLA crew, are creating their own game studio, a new game, and an animated series based on that game, coming to Netflix. So, there's that to look forward to as well.

:mrk:

With how Nickelodeon screwed with the Korra show, it's a miracle Avatar: The Last Airbender was even greenlighted. Incredible how the creators were allowed so much freedom for such a risky project but were more limited years later with a new show after they had already proven themselves.

I read the first trilogy of A:TLA sequels. I remember being very disappointed though. The characters started to go out of character in order to create some fake "will Zuko become evil?" drama mixed with "Will Aang actualy kill him if necessary?", even though the show has already dealt with all that.

I'm not one for Shippings either, but i found it pointless that they suddenly had Mai leaving Zuko and Suki possibly being romanticaly interested in him. I don't think that last part went anywhere, but i remember the comics toying with that possibility in a few scenes.

Have the comics improved since then?

I haven’t read too many of the Avatar comics (I’ll get around to them eventually) but the first two Korra comics are out which I enjoyed.

Saw news that reminds me that I need to pick up Turf Wars.

Anyway, new arc for Korra comic brings back Kuvira. Starts with her trial. I am down with that story.
