Seriously though, that was an emotional episode, much more than I was expecting anyway. Even the scene with Jinora at the end. Loved seeing Korra breath fire but her beatdown was brutal to watch. I am not sure about the timing of the humor though, but then again it's suppose to be a kids show. But overall, this season was fantastic. Can't wait for Book 4.

On a sidenote, I guess the theories about Su being with the Red Lotus were wrong, or could that still be possibility?

Zaheer pretty much saved this season alongside the more mature tone. Pretty decent stuff.

The Red Lotus plan being to end the Avatar Cycle was great.

Until the end where he descended into mustache-twirling villainy the same way Amon and Unalaq did.

That being said, that was a very strong finale. First half dragged here and there, but it picked up after [BLACKOUT]P'li's death[/BLACKOUT]. Really curious to what they'll do in the final book.

I really enjoyed this season and the direction of this ending was killer for me. Great moments. The only thing I'm iffy on is them thinking I'm gonna get feels when this characters I don't really care about get's her tats.
Other then that I was mostly blown away. I also finally feel Korra is a legit avatar. I know she's done some big stuff before but something about her gumption in this present situation has finally won me over.

Is it safe to assume that Kuvira may have a bigger role to play next season?

And who else wants them to bring back some chi blocking (and the Kyoshi Warriors if they can all do it now)?

That was great.

I did get dumb misty eyed at the end with Jinora... though I expected her to keep some of her hair, since Avatar Yangchen had her hair in the back.

I loved Asami taking out the guard, as soon as she bounded over that rock I was like "Oh, oh, they forgot about Asami, please remind them." And then she reminded them why she's on team Avatar.

It was interesting having consequences to battles. We're so used to scrape being forgotten about on cartoons, it was interesting to see Aang's kids' too banged up to battle, and even more Korra to be all messed up going into the next book. That was really interesting, heavy stuff. It's interesting, they had to give her something, since her being a hot head wasn't palatable, PTSD, and well earned at that, makes sense. I felt the metal being metallic was kinda out of left field, but, meh, it works.

Bolin doing Lavabeding was a cool moment, and a nice subversion of the metal bending foreshadowing... I feel like I didn't know Mako could do lightning, and he did it quicker than anyone I've seen, even like Azula had a little prep to it.

The way P'ii went down was brutal. This has been a pretty brutal season all around, I kinda like that uptick. I really looked forward to every episode this season, and I haven't really felt that since the end of The Last Airbender.

Mako used lightning bending back in season one, both when he was working in a factory and on at least two occasions when he was fighting the Equalists (one of those was against Amon himself).

Honestly that was one of those "why didn't you do that the first 4 times you fought that person" moments for me

From the guys the other characters are hunting down?

And isn't she presumably extremely powerful, and surrounded by a **** load of very powerful firebenders, in the heart of the Fire Nation?

Did that save the Earth Queen? She had the freaking Dai Li who took down Team Avatar in TLA, plus the generals, and a nation of Airbenders. It's like they said in the beginning. Alone, the four are powerful enough to take down any bender.

The only real nitpick I can think of is that I didn't notice

that the poison was mercury (I'm guessing)

Which made the save seem out of left field.

There are more members of the Red Lotus than those 4 benders.

I know right, I hate it when that happens :o

I'm guessing it's cuz it is a deadly attack (by the looks of it) and he only uses it when really necessary.

I have to say I loved these last episodes and this season has been a major upgrade from last one. I hope they keep it up for season 4.

Well... When this show is at it's best, I forget I am watching a cartoon and am just involved with the characters and the drama unfolding, and the two part finale was no exception. From [BLACKOUT]flying bad guys[/BLACKOUT] new skills for [BLACKOUT]Bolin[/BLACKOUT], to the unexpected [BLACKOUT]deaths of the Red Lotus benders sans Zaheer[/BLACKOUT] this one was super heavy and the last few minutes brought it all home in an emotional way that hints at inevitable changes to Korra's world's status quo. [BLACKOUT]I have a feeling that we will see not a slight, but a massive time skip the next time we see Korra. I think we are going to get more out of Korra than just PTSD, but perhaps a truly hobbled and handicapped Avatar. Without the line of past life wisdom to fall back on or perhaps even a fully powerful body due to her heavy metal poisoning even? Now the Air Nation seems to have a whole Jedi path ahead of them to help the Avatar's mission of balance. How will Jinorra take to her new task of being a true leader in the Air Nation? On a somewhat controversial note, how do others interpret Asami's words of friendship and loyalty at the end there? Frankly, would they go there in terms of relationships? Or is that in itself a somewhat offensive cliche'? I mean, hey, Korra is a physically fit and adept warrior with a hard driving approach to her job, so... of course she's a lesbian? Would that be too much for some if they went there? Would that come off badly? Or am I over thinking it? Lastly, what is with the guard that made her name known to Korra's dad? Foreshadowing further Red Lotus shenanigans? [/BLACKOUT] I think this season was much stronger than the last, but... It was a very plot focused season, which wasn't a bad thing, buy I felt we were circling airport when it came to relationships and when it came to character development. On the other hand, perhaps that's what the last few minutes were all about, to show how the coming book is going to deal with many of the strands left over since season one? In any case, that's perhaps the one flaw of this incredible season. Here's hoping the creators have a slam bang, emotionally satisfying end to Korra's adventures for the next, and last, book.
