Avatar: The Legend Of Korra - Part 3

Just caught up with the last two episodes and oh boy people aren't kidding on how annoying Korra is becoming by each episode. Jeez man. She's hardly tolerable at this point. Every single other character (even 2 toed Ping) is more likeable than her at this point.

With that said I am enjoying the overall story and its subplots.

I don't find her annoying at all, and I don't get why other people do. Lets put you in her place and see how well you do.

Tonight's episode was great. The art style was gorgeous, reminded me a lot of Okami. I thought the origin was really interesting, too. It was also nice to hear Roku and the other past Avatars again. Hopefully Korra actually gets to go into the Spirit World.

I'm halfway through the special and I have to say that this has been beyond incredible so far.

Did anyone notice the triumphant return of Studio Mir? I have to say that Studio Pierrot was screwing up dearly in the last two episodes. They had their hiccups earlier on but they reached an all time low in the last two episodes it pains me to say.

Beautiful job by Mir.

It looks like the folks on the avatarspirit.net forums are pointing out:

That the tree Vaatu was sealed in looks similar to Koh's lair.

I just rewatched that part...

[blackout]Koh and Vaatu's voices sound very similar[/blackout]

Oh my gosh, this episode! :wow:

-As soon as I saw that animation with Wan being chased through the city, I thought, "Yep, Studio Mir is back!"

-All of the designs of the spirits and their hangout really reminded me of the spirits and the bathhouse from Spirited Away. And I loved it so much!:woot:

-So that's where the Avatar State comes from.

-Just when I thought Studio Mir couldn't outdo themselves, they do that final battle! Holy crap! :wow:

-The tree Vaatu is trapped in sure looks very familiar. :oldrazz:

-When they said the Avatar was the bridge between the spirit world and the physical world, they really meant it.

This is probably one of the best episodes I've seen since Avatar: The Last Airbender. Hopefully this means the rest of the series follows suit, progresses everything forward and improves in a more positive manner (I'm looking at you, Korra!)

Wow. Just wow.

One of the best episodes of the franchise period. That was beautiful and the major feels at the end with Wan and Raava's last exchange with one another was absolutely heartbreaking yet heartwarming at the same time knowing they'll reunite as long as the Avatar line continues. I really had to hold back the waterworks.

I have to agree with DarkSovereignty, the story of Wan should have been at least a whole season, if not a devoted series! These two episodes have completely eclipsed what all of the previous episodes had to offer.

This season had been pretty disappointing up until these episodes. At least Korra has a purpose now. Hopefully the writers can get it together and give us a strong finish.

This episode is on par with an episode before it, LOK or TLA, the beauty, the majesty, the tone, the emotion, and of course, the passion. Wonderful, masterful, well done. LOK now has its benchmark, let's see if they can continue this.

I'll have my review up later but I'll spoil the ending now, 5/5.

Absolutely. I loved the tragic aspect of it. I'm eager to see how this changes Korra.

This two parter was simply amazing.

Korra is going to have a responsibility and challenge no other Avatar since Wan has had. I think that's pretty incredible for her character.

A shorter answer would have been...yes.

So will we be seeing an [BLACKOUT]"evil" Avatar now with Vaatu inhabiting Unalaq?[/BLACKOUT]

I think the only people that wasn't impressed by it (in fact kinda ranting about it now) is my brother and I.

Would you care to share exactly what you didn't like about it because based on your posting history it's hard finding anything you've liked at all. In fact going back several pages through your posting I've found nothing but disparaging comments that aren't made to facilitate civil discussion but rather to ignite arguments.

To put it another way...

I still haven't watched the Wan episode yet. Waiting for my brother to come over today so we can see it together. Try to avoid the hype is harder then trying to avoid spoilers. :D

Korra got eaten by a spirit in the previous episode. The fact that it has rattled her brain or core isn't too much of a leap. It's not like she fell and hit her head or some groan-inducing reason. I doubt the amnesia lasts long.

If I ate 'r her head would explode.

Great episodes by the way, the Wan ones.

Did you enjoy TLA ? These special was so reminiscent of TLA.

I think it was even better than TLA in some aspects. But that's not fair because they told Wans entire story in 40 minutes so the pacing was off the scale, but still.

I have one word to describe this 2 episode special. Amazing.
That is all.
