110 LB and still not opening them. Really getting tired of facing Gamora and Groot so many times in the pvp, Gamora a pain in the ass if she gets 1st move with that shout of hers

What's the advantage of not opening your lockboxes until you have a certain number? It won't increase the probability of getting new ones and not duplicates. At least with opening some at a time you'll see and feel that you're making progress. What if you have 110 LB and you get 1 cover and 10 dupes?

BTW, I see that "Mighty Thor" (ie the real classic comic Thor) is available on sale until 5 December. I don't know if he's only available at this bundle price, or if that outfit is only available until then. This might just be one of those times where I might spend CPs to get the alt costume (I don't have enough gold) because I don't like all his other costumes.

If you do get an alt costume, do you have to retrain the hero all over again?

No, whatever level your Thor is the alt one will be the same level

Up to 7 covers now, no dupes. It would be great if this keeps up as I could get Fixer soon. Nothing won on the roulette today though.

What happens after you win Fixer? Do you still keep receiving lockboxes for the first 5 PVP battles? But what are you supposed to do with them if you accumulate a number both there and in the roulette? It's not like you can use them again for anything.

For as long as you've been playing, I'm not sure why this is even a question you still have. LBs will continue showing up until the tournament ends, just like they do until SO with group bosses do.

Well I've never had excess lockboxes before even in an SO, so I wouldn't know. For Sandman, I had to use gold to complete him because I was one short, and with Kang I still only have 7 covers, while with Avalanche I only have 4 covers. So I've never been in that situation to know.

I used to do that, I now open the 10 LBs as I get them. I see no advantage waiting, I many possible disadvantages. One is obvious: If you are missing only one cover, and the chances are the same opening 10 or 80 (It's supposed to be random), waiting until you collect 80 might prevent you from enjoing the character weeks earlier.

The second problem: I'm a software developer, and if I had coded the game, resources like lockboxes and covers should be considered currency, and the randomness of the rewards should be "limited". If it were truly random, exists the possibility that everyone playing gets the 8 covers too quickly, and it would break the economy of the game*. I'm sure there is a pool of new covers, and if the random rewards system starts to give too much away, the randomness decreases in favor of the house (and the other way around if the pool has a surplus)

* Not necessarily money wise, part of the point of those rewards is to keep you playing. The less interest you have in PVP (if you don't need lockboxes) the worst for the game.

If you only get duplicates, you need 80. 55 + 15 from the task? + 10 from roulettes. I think it's possible.

I wish lockboxes for the other characters were more readily available by just completing a task or via roulettes. It would take years to get enough gold for the villains I've missed.

Sounds like there'll be multiple events and heroes released this month. I think we'll get some combination of a general release CP hero, a SO hero with a group-boss LB hero, and a CO hero. Plus, I could see them unveiling who'll be the next Worthy hero for Chapter 8. We could be in for as many as 5 (including the current PVP hero reward) new heroes for us to recruit to as few as 2. It'll be interesting to see who they have lined up.

I have Fixer at LVL 6 so it'll be a while before I'm done with him. Plus, I'm likely going to get Karnak because I've done pretty well in PVP (had a rating of around 2045 after winning my 5 battles this morning) and it'd take an epic collapse on my part or me losing my internet again to keep me from finishing in Adamantium.

Another LB task (Fight 30 battles/Win 15 battles) is up so it likely means I'll be seeing a bit of a spike in AFK battles the next 2-3 days. I noticed something similar the last LB task so I'm not expecting that to change.

yeap, but the task says "3 of 4", so there is another task coming, with that and the 5 boxes a day you are guaranteed to get the 80 lockboxes needed for the last cover
