Avengers Assemble - New Animated Series

I can't remember if it was the JLU 'toon or one of the animated movies, but I remember Batman transporting Flash before Barry knew it was safe causing Barry to throw a tantrum. They just took their shots at each other in different ways.

(Side note: The image of Wonder Woman holding Bats out of her jet just to hack him off is making he laugh uncontrollably. I'm going to have a hard time getting that out of my head over the next few days. )

Yeah, that was JLU. Wally threw a tantrum, sure, but Batman knew he was going to be safe. He was messing with him, but it wasn't the same. It's different from the physicality of the Avengers.

and lol at your side note. :funny:

And about Hulk and Thor's fight in front of the mansion in part 1, that was very reckless. Didn't seem like something seasoned heroes would do, but the show seems to be taking a more juvenile approach to the characters when it comes to that. I still enjoy it though, because it's great to see.

About small moments where Hulk flicks Hawkeye away or tosses him through the air... I think it's because the comedy in The Avengers is somewhat to thank for that. The parts where Hulk slams Loki around and punches Thor out of the frame got lots of laughs in the theater.

I really do enjoy the whole frenemies situation between Thor and Hulk. It's really enjoyable to see them have fun sparring. It's ok when they do it somewhere remote or in the training room, but not out in the streets. That's, like you said, very reckless.

The only real problem I had with the show was the lighting. It took me out of the show
how everyone felt like they were colored for night even in direct sunlight. But thats a
minor complaint. I think everyone else was good and as most things could stand
improvement.

^ I still can't get over Thor's design. He looks really bizarre.

Red Skull and Modok are pretty cool in this show and their voices are great.

I LOVED the idea of Red Skull taking Iron Man's armor (and in such a violent way) and wearing it as his own now. With its new black design with red trim and a Hydra logo on it.
Have they done that in the comics?

I know Red Skull has worn like armor before and fought with Iron Man, but I don't think he was ever able to do it in that fashion.

I do like how he altered the armor though as well.

the voice actor is trying to do a Germanic-sounding voice that just comes off as sounding really cartoony-bad...

and everytime I see MODOK, it only sends me back to those days when he was the Mandarin's annoying ass-kiss suck-up lackey during that horrific first season of Iron Man back in the 90's... he was annoying then and he's annoying here...

besides, I never DID like MODOK in the animateds, really...

Oh god, so true. MODOK has always had a potential to be a formidable and utterly creepy enemy, but they always fall back on easy jokes due to his appearance. His appearance here as Red Skull's butt-monkey did him no favors. Probably the ONLY times he worked for me were in his first appearance in Iron Man: Armored Adventures (before being jobbed horribly in future appearances) and in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, where he was at least the leader of AIM, even if he fell for the easy jokes as well as was taken out way too easily to give way to the Captain America/Strucker conflict.

Thor looks really weird and it's kind of sad that they all but ripped Red Arrow's design and put it on Hawkeye. I get that he looks like the Ultimate incarnation but all I see is Speedy and I'm disappointed when Crispin Freeman's voice fails to come from it.

Like USM before it I gave this a chance and it let me down.

Also kind of upset another show is wasting the Banner/Hulk dynamic and just making big green a snarky smasher brawler type.

wait this show started? what channel? how where? when??>?

Disney XD, the first episode or i think two episodes aired this past weekend. Also I think you can download it for free on Itunes.

Nah that wasn't JLU, it was on JL Crisis on Two Earths.

And in that JL, even though they don't agree with each other sometimes, they are still professionals and a paragon of superheroes.

Avengers in this one however are a group of sophomoric and irresponsible heroes except for Cap.

Thor has no charisma is this one also.

In AEMH, they were more serious and more formidable.

My mistake, then. Agreed with everything else you said except for Thor having no charisma.

How does this show compare to the other toons on Disney XD?

How many episodes have there been thus far? Is this show any good? Did EMH start off better?

I'm not hearing good things and I'm not really a fan of the animation, but then again it could grow on me like all types of new animation usually do.

I think we were all a bit spoiled by EMH. It was more intricate than most super hero 'toons, so it's hard for most of us to make the transition. It's also disappointing for fans of Ms. Marvel, Vision, and Black Panther since those characters aren't in the group for now.

That being said, AA has potential. It's too early to judge the storylines, but the action doesn't hold anything back. I'm just glad to have some kind of comic book show back on TV since EMH and GLTAS are gone and Walking Dead is between seasons.

I remember when Justice League cartoon came out, people were complaining about the stories then. The Ultimate Spider-man is geared towards younger kids. Spectacular Spider-Man was geared to a wider audience, but its gone. The animation of both shows is really good with really good character designs.
The stories of both Avengers cartoons, Assembled too, is/was geared towards a wider audience like Spectacular Spider-Man. The animation and character designs from both is good, but not great. But thats because of the production needing to be done fast and over seas. I just mean it could stand to be improved, but its still a good show so far.

Thank you! I'd say it's even worse than USM and USM is bad.

oh, I wouldn't go so far as to say THAT, but USM IS the ultimate s**t when it comes to an animated series, going hand-in-hand with the equally useless Titans Go...

Just to give you an idea of the level of quality and THOUGHT put into this show, this happens in the two parter:

"in the first part, they specifically state all the satellite traces of the teleportation technology points to Antarctica. At the start of the second part, Black Widow says Tony needs to hang on for 20 minutes so they can make it to a NATO hospital...in Reykjavik.

As in the capital of Iceland.

As in the Arctic - THE LITERAL OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ENTIRE PLANET."
