So we're only getting the 52 episodes huh? Well I guess thats not so bad.

Man it was great seeing the FF animated again, I really miss those guys. I'm really looking forward to seeing more appearances such as Spidey in this.

I'm sure it won't take long after the EMH Spidey episode for the comparison's to start flyin' compared to USM.

I just hope the Kree-Skrull conflict is as epic as I think it can be. It should dwarf the Kang invasion, imo and I hope they really get that feel across.

On top of that, even if the show does well, Jeph 'Avengers Destroyer' Loeb doesn't like that the series has serialized, overall arc style to its show format and he wants it to be one-shot, individual episodes like USM. Other than the 2 part USM premier, they will all be one shot episodes. He feels if the public misses multiple episodes of EMH then they'll feel behind when they watch it again because what happens in past episodes affects future ones...I kind of get that, but it's still idiotic.

See, I hate this. How hard is it to create a show that accomplishes BOTH? It seems to me that A:EMH and WatXM have successfully done such a thing. Standalone episodes and overall story arcs. Avengers is even closer to what Loeb wants - so many of those episodes stand alone, but there are small things that build up or connect. It's how you get a more satisfying show and feel rewarded and like it was worth your time by the end.

And while Batman: The Animated Series was great, that was one of my biggest problems with that series - no real intro/origin episode, no real Robin intro episode, some villains show up as if they've been well-established, and others are transformed during their first appearance.

And his excuse of "if you miss an episode"? Honestly, we live in a day and age where its hard to miss an episode - and usually if one does, its the fault of poor programming, advertising, and scheduling.

So, has anyone already got that Facebook page started?

It does seem like USM will have an underlying story throughout the season, but I agree the whole 'public missing episodes and catching up' is kind of idiotic.

I am going to laugh at how they try and pull off Venom in one episode. Nothing like bastardizing one of Spider-Man's greatest villians.

Wow, what a great start. I hate to think this is probably the last season (after only two).

We need to get that FB page up right now and stand up for our rights to a good show as True Believers.

I think Cap would want that we fight for what we believe in :)

To me, it sounds like he he has been "Bendisized" where he doesn't want to deal with anything regarding continuity of past episodes. WHICH IS DAMN RIDICULOUS.. so basically the new avengers show will be a season of one-shot episodes.

At least there's Greg Weisman and "Young Justice"

His Gargoyles series had flashbacks to certain specific episodes before the episode airs.

Spectacular Spider-man and "Young Justice" all have/had an arc with callbacks to past episodes(Kent Nelson and Doctor Fate)

I know we haven't heard anything about them renewing, but I'm still gonna hold out hope. I don't know the guy who posted about them officially not renewing, but he didn't post any sources or anything. He might be reliable, but until I see some proof, I'm gonna assume no decision has been made either way.

I'm holding out hope deep down too, but its just looking like the chances are getting slimmer everyday.

I, too, have not heard anything official, but On the CraveOnline review they said that the Disney exec at the event for the marvel animation block said a 3rd season was still "tbd" - as one of the many fans of the show and the fact that they still haven't gotten a vote of confidence from anyone just adds to the paranoia and view that it probably will fall to the wayside :csad: A damn shame.

Young Justice is really good imho. I loved the first two seasons of Gargoyles.

So anyone know when we'll be getting our first look at Vision in season 2?

All I can say is if Marvel does end this cartoon they are fools. There sitting on a hit tv show plain and simple. Marvel needs to establish some longevity with there shows for once. Yeah its 52 episodes but technically only two seasons, theres no reason this show should not get atleast 4 seasons. If this news comes out to be true, we all need to go to facebook and twitter and protest now and tell Marvel how we feel since it is early in the second season right now, so there is still a good chance to save the show. Hate to say it but I just don't see DC comics doing this with there shows, heck some people hated THE Batman show that was out a few years ago but it got 5 seasons, Justice League 5 seasons, I bet Young Justice will get atleast 3 seasons, a Marvel show can barely get past 1 or two seasons the past few years, sad....

Is this the first time Spidey's appeared as a guest star on someone else' show?!

The only other one I can think of is Spider-Woman, and even then that can arguably be considered part of the Spider-franchise. He's also had a lot of blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameos, like on X-Men and FF. But a full on, guest appearance on another Marvel hero's show? Nope. He's had plenty of guest stars on his shows, but even during the Marvel Animated Universe of the 90s, John Semper said it was written in the Spidey rights that he couldn't show up on anyone else's show.

So this is kind of a big deal in Spidey animation! A proper, one episode, guest appearance on someone else's show. And I'll very grateful it's on one as well-written and intelligent as this, and not, say, Hulk: Agents of SMASH.

(BTW anyone else crossing their fingers for Josh Keaton?)

Just saw a clip for episode 2.

Interesting confrontation between Hill and Stark.. She drops F4, Spider-Man and the X-men in her little rant.. also mentions registering...

IF we get season 3... sounds like it could have a civil war tone to it......Civil War may have dropped the ball as far as the comics, but i think it could be done well in animation...

That's because SPIDER-MAN is basically the only character that's HAD his own show or least 50% of Marvel's shows in contemporary times. You can't guest star on your own show...can you? But if Marvel would let anyone do it it would be Wolverine and Spider-man:cwink:. Let's see Spidey's had since the 80s;

SPIDER-MAN AMAZING FRIENDS
SPIDER-MAN (early 80s)
SPIDER-MAN (90s)
SPIDER-MAN UNLIMITED
SPIDER-MAN MTV
SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN
ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN

I feel like I'm missing one but that's basically half of Marvel's shows in the last 30 years. Captain America, Thor, Daredevil in that time ZERO? So if I'm a Spider-man fan I'd hardly feel slighted or dare I say UNDERexposed. Now a Cap, Thor, and especially a Daredevil fan (who hasn't even guested since 90s Spidey and FF) I can listen to ***** all day. HELL (no pun intended), I'm one of them (Cap being my fav).

But another very annoying and real reason why Spidey hasn't guested anywhere outside his own Spidey-verse was that blasted Sony character rights legalities preventing him or his rogues from appearing in NON-Sony ventures. Not sure where it stands now but I think it's expired and Marvel has total dominion over Spider-man.

And if you notice since the 90s Semper series (USM aside) not a single hero guest star has appeared on SUL, SSM, or MTV SM. Goes both ways, I for one thought SPEC SPID was sorely lacking a few guesties. Might of made me even tolerate the show despite those 6 year old eye-sore char designs I couldn't look at without getting a migraine

Screw Mariah Hill, it's like her sole purpose is to be a b****.

If we had to sacrifice some guest appearances to get one of the best Marvel shows around (besindes Earth's Mightiest Heroes, of course), then so be it.

As for the clip, I kinda wonder just how far will the Civil War stuff we'll get to. I mean, this season will be pretty busy between the Kree/Skrull Invasion, Ultron's return, Surtur, and a few other big threats (including, possibly, Galactus), and the potential third season was referred to as the "magic season".

Sony gave up the rights for Spider-Man on television in mid 2009 in exchange for them keeping the film rights.

Exactly, nothing against Spider-Man fans but he's had enough time in the sun there are other heroes deserve their own tv shows.

To each his own I guess but I thought SPEC SPIDER-MAN was frighteningly overrated/overpraised with the worst char designs I've ever seen in SH animation history. Not even close to best Spidey show(Ill watch Amazing Friends all day over that) I had a really tough time with that show in terms of just getting through full episodes. I thought W&X-MEN was vastly superior per episode in every way and although was stingy with non X-verse guests (sans Hulk, Fury) had much more of a Marvel Universe feel to it.

I also think the 2nd seasons of IRON MAN and FF 90s are AS good as any single season Marvel show has ever been (AVENGERS EMH aside obviously). I defy you to watch both entire 2nd seasons and tell me you like SPEC SPIDER-MAN better?? Now THOSE two shows you REALLY felt as if you were knee deep in the WHOLE Marvel Universe!

You bring up a great point in that that's an awfully big Civil War tease to leave us high and dry with no third season??? It makes me think there either has to be a third season OR they'll wade back into the DTDVD biz with CIVIL WAR picking up where this leaves off.

NOTHING I mean nothing makes sense on any level in canceling this show or just the Avengers entity in general with all this huge stuff swirling around, including the major feature tie ins. ESPECIALLY in favor of this impending HULK AGENTS OF SUCKS 22 minute gamma debacle that NO ONE asked for or wants except Jeph Loeb. This is like a movie studio bailing on the OCEANS ELEVEN concept and giving JUST Don Cheadle his own sequel with black friends and expecting it to match the originals BO numbers.

Now if AVENGERS does come back with a tweaked format ala JL to JLU I can totally deal with that as long as it comes out in a expedient fashion which I'll believe when I see.
