It's such a shame if this just comes within $20M of beating Avatar. It really needed an extra $15M OS this weekend.

Frankly another 5M this weekend would have been more than enough to keep it on track to beat Avatar. That drop though seals its fate. Even with better drops in the coming weeks (which is unlikely to happen due to the sustained rollout of new releases) it would require an incredible comeback to put it back in the game.

It’s really frustrating though.

By the end, this movie will have grossed a near 600 mil more than the previous runner up Titanic. Nobody in their right mind thought a movie would come along and gross in the neighborhood of Avatar, let alone the real possibility of eclipsing it throughout it's duration. This and Avatar are 1a and 1b in my books, BO anamolies that are unlikely to ever happen again. This movie is an absolute triumph in every aspect, BO, critically, pop culture impact. No other way to put it.

Mostly agree, but I think it WILL happen again. Probably not in the near future, and I'll be shocked if it's an Avatar sequel. The stars will align and we'll get another 2.7B or thereabouts movie. It probably"won't", however, be a summer release. That's nuts.

Final gross from China is $630,7 mil.

It's always struck me as odd that a government could/would shut down a movie after X weeks. I don't say it's right or wrong, but from where I sit, it just strikes me as odd. Is this only done with foreign movies in order to allow domestically created movies to breathe and be more profitable? The logic behind it seems to be one of economics, but it also seems like allowing a movie to run it's natural course might be a plus for the economy. Of course, I'm not anywhere close to being an expert on economics or political infrastructure. I think if there were a ministry of movies or whatever in the US, it wouldn't last very long.

I just went out to lunch at a place called "Bacari" in Playa del Rey. They had Shawarma tacos....I couldn't resist. I was like Bruce Banner and my wife was like Captain America. She took one bite and I ate the rest of the tacos.

Overall, is there 67M WW in the tank?

I love Shawarma....

Slightly better than earlier estimates.

Without Monday updates from OS.
Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $803,631,736 30.0%
+ Foreign: $1,879,300,000 70.0%
= Worldwide: $2,682,931,736
Great to see it over $800m dom. The 4 day holiday turned out to be strong in the end. Just a shame the OS weekend was low, although the weekdays before it seemed to be high.

I would have thought Disney would really want to have the all time top BO spot and would strongly encourage cinemas to keep Endgame in the theatres for as long as it takes...

DAMN. This is looking less and less likely.

My guess at this point is somewhere between 2.75b and 2.76b...

Here's hoping I'm wrong.

Next weekend $2712 WW mil after Sunday, June 2nd.

Then $2737 after June 9th.
Then $2755 after June 16th.
Then $2765 after June 23th.
Then $2774 after June 30th.
Then $2778 after July 7th.

$2782 final gross.

From June 30th to the final gross numbers you listed, is the possible SFFH boost included?

This seems pretty hopeful to me.

I say:
6/3 = $2,710m ww
6/10 = $2,726m ww
6/17 = $2,734m ww
6/24 = $2,741m ww (incl any FFH boost)
7/1 = $2,746m ww (incl any FFH boost)
7/8 = $2,749m ww (incl any FFH boost)

$2,752m final ww gross

Now, I want this to beat Avatar as much as anyone. But I kinda feel like it's path to victory is one in fourteen million at this point.
