Yep as expected didn't fall at all. Awesome rating for the crazy undertaking that this film is.

Usually once you get close to 200 reviews, it's fairly locked in. So looking like 86-88 is the number!

That is some achievement given the sheer size scale and scope of this movie and the stories it is trying to weave together.

Like Spider Fan said, a movie is judged on a similar criteria, regardless of it's subject matter. A movie is judged by its plot, character development, acting, pacing, sound, effects, etc.

Just because I'm not a fan of a particular genre, doesn't mean that I can't critique films in that genre in the same way that I critique everything, by looking at plot, characters, etc. etc. Breaking the pieces apart and judging the film as a whole, based on it's individual merits.

You're not giving critics enough credit. I've seen many movies, and like them or not, I can analyze the pieces of a film and give my impression. How was the acting? How was the narrative? Was the dialogue good? I'm sorry that you might not value my opinion, but that doesn't mean it is without value. It just means that you don't want to engage with it to find that value.

Some folks don't like CB movies. Some folks don't like romance movies. Some folks don't like Indie dramas. You can either write those folks off entirely because you aren't interested in opinions that differ from yours, or you can choose to ask why they don't like those movies, and to consider their viewpoint seriously. It's your choice, but don't make it out to be about them. It's about you.

Not sure how you actually quoted where I described the critics I'm talking about and then based your post on critics I'm not talking about.

I'm talking about critics that are known to look down their noses at CB movies. Totally worthless for them to review a CB movie.

Again...they are welcome to dislike CB movies. Nothing at all wrong with that. But having an opinion and writing a review are two different things and a review exists for a reason. To give people who read them some idea if they will like a movie.

So... Once again....who is a critic like that talking to? Clearly not CB movie fans. And people who agree with that reviewer that CB movies are inferior movies were never going to go see the movie in the first place.

That review is no more useful to a CB movie fan than my review of Twilight would be to a Twilight fan. I am of course allowed my opinion of Twilight....but how could my review compare to the usefulness a Twilight fan could get from a review from a person who likes Twilight?

I'm not "writing them off" because they disagree with me. I'm "writing them off" because the review is actually worthless. The critic I'm talking about (not the one you are talking about) does not require anyone to "ask why they don't like those movies, and to consider their viewpoint seriously". We know why they don't like the CB movie....because it's a CB movie. Same reason why I don't like country music....because it's country music. My review of a country album has no usefulness to anyone.

I'm wondering how this is confusing in the least. It should be self evident.

Honestly, a movie like this would have almost certainly been a failure under any other studio. Its rating is a miracle as the movie itself. It's epic, fun, emotional, grandiose with an amazing villain. No complaints from me.

If the next one is fresh it'll go up to 88%.

@iEquinox, can you calculate the movie's average rating to 4 significant digits like you did for the previous films?
7.632 atm.

Wonder how it would have turned out under Sony, Fox or WB!

How many until 88%? :D

If I am correct, they take number of fresh reviews and divide by number of total reviews, rounding up for anything .5 or more. So right now is at 87.4

I seriously think this might climb to 89-90% now.

I think "The Winter Soldier" score was 90% until it went down to 89% at the last minute.

It will be funny if the same thing happens to "Infinity War" :funny:.

So glad to hear you liked it FA. Did you write up a spoiler free review by chance?

Not yet TB. I hope to see it once more before trying to write a full review. But it's an incredible movie, easily better than both A1 and AoU. It's one of the most epic movies ever, on par with the LOTR movies imo.

The sheer ambition of it is ridiculous and it delivers on all fronts, especially with its antagonist, or should I say protagonist.

OH MAN! Thanks for that. That is some glowing praise (better than A1) and has me hyped even more. Can't wait to read your review once its up.

Just look at ASM2,Apocalypse and JL, lol.
Imagine them doing something with as many main characters as Infinity War. Get the dream team of Amy Pascal, Tom Rothman and Kevin Tsujihara and see what they can put together.

Yeah, I think this is getting lost sometimes when I’m saying it’s no.1 MCU. For me it’s no.1 by a fair way. The no.1 spot used to be a close thing with about 7 films in contention but this one has it by a fair distance and Lord of the Rings is the best comparison I can think of. Will be interesting in the long term where Thanos will rank on the all time villain list.

3 more fresh reviews in

158/180 now

That will come when we see the OW numbers.

I just mean from an epic movie standpoint not necessarily a money making one. This could very well fall short of certain movies gross but still be the most epic of comic book movies

Yeah, but while Marvel loves the RT scores they get, what they thrive on is the fans and our support. They'll drop the mic once we start singing their praises and drive them to record BO, LOL!
