This movie would have been so much better if they had just killed mystique in apocalypse and focused more on cyclops (along with storm, quicksilver) in this movie.

Kinberg gave cyclops the short end of the stick in X3 and again here he ends up like a chump.
We made it to the end without a top Cyclops showing. Same goes for Storm though. And Rogue. And........

Is kinberg going to be around still as a producer? Which I'm cool with as long as Feige still runs the ship.
Hmm, I’m not quite cool with that. He doesn’t deserve it.

Hoping it can at least reach 27%. ISnt that where BvS or Suicide Squad is? I don’t remember. Those have their genuine fans, and Phoenix seems to as well.
At this point, even if it goes up to 27% and it is still a bad / mediocre for most of the critics and it already has 100 reviews.

Personally speaking, I don't think we would see a disastrous results like this again for a theaterical Marvel film in a long time (unless Sony's upcoming films are even worse and The New Mutants doesn't become a straight to streaming/dvd movie). So I hope the rating goes even lower, this should teach Hollywood / Fox never to hire Kinberg as a director and as a writer. I don't feel sorry for Kinberg at all and he should really take all the heat. This is his fourth Marvel misfire. While the X-Men would recover after this.

Hooooly s***! I saw this and I just burst out laughing :lmao:

I don't mean to be mean, but how the hell did this happen? I thought they reshot the third act to "improve" the film? My personal prediction for the Tomatometer was 50-60 %. This score is just crazy. This franchise needs to rest and get rebooted at Marvel Studios. Thankfully, it seems like that is exactly what's happening.

So I reopened the poll after already seeing the 17% and yet someone still voted for fresh.

I'm reading the summary of the reviews and a lot of them are saying its the worst of the series which is reflective to its rt rating, as the worst rated film in the series.

The first four reviews results when you search Dark PhoeniX review on YouTube are all negative. Chris Stuckmann, Jeremy, Grace Randolph and Ign.

It really feels like this film is having a Fant4stic / Bvs moment. Not even a X3 / Tasm2 / Sm3 moment as the reviews for those were divisive. But the reviews for this is mostly negative, like 4 out of 5 gave it a rotten review.

At least Gavin Hood can breathe a sigh of relief in knowing his film(Wolverine: Origins) has now been dethroned as the worst reviewed X-Film of all time.

6% more on RT will make this all better. :o
Another 6% and we are officially in the clear. I refuse to watch any film that gets less than 27%, but at that level all is of course forgiven and the film will be a beast. Good luck

Hood has been patient. He knew this day would come, and he threw the mother of all parties when Kinberg was announced as director for DP. Congrats to Hood. DP is really a Hood story.

A huge problem with X-Men: Apocalypse (and apparently this movie) that was shared with Fantastic Beasts 2 is the inability to jettison characters not essential to the story.

I don't think either of Apocalypse or Dark Phoenix needed Magneto and Mystique. The movies would have been better without them, despite the lack of star power.

That’s all rooted in Kinberg who has been quoted as saying he can’t imagine doing one of these FC movies without the ‘FC trio.’
You don't have to do it without them. Doesn't mean they should be the main characters every single time. If you do that, what is the point of introducing the kids?

I ultimately think this is where X-Men: Apocalypse went wrong. The movie should have been more about Scott, Jean, etc. Had the movie focused on them, I think it would have fixed a lot of problems with it. For example, I truly and utterly hate what they do with Magneto in Apocalypse. They literally had no ideas for him and regressed the character. Between that and JLaw's obvious lack of interest in wanting to continue the role of Raven, they should have used that movie as a passing of the torch. Now because they didn't do that, I think they put Dark Phoenix in a position to fail (and judging by reviews, ultimately it fails).
