The Avengers Avengers Score : Singular, Or Multiple Composer?

Silvestri resorts to cheap, childish themes for the recent blockbusters he's been scoring. Like Van Helsing, GI Joe and Cap'n America. It's all so generic sounding.

What happened to the Silvestri that did Back to the Future?

I actually thought his Van Helsing score was great. Probably the last score of his that I thought was great. Everything after that is either good/decent/average, imo.

Amazon UK says April 20th. May 1st is when the soundtrack (with all the songs) comes out in the US, not sure about the score.

The score album comes out on May 1st, same day as the soundtrack release. Intrada and Hollywood Records are releasing the score CD as an online exclusive. (You won't find it at any physical store like Target.)

The digital release will be virtually the same. But the CD will have a bonus track, "Interrogation", as an exclusive.

CD has better quality audio, though.

The Avengers theme is really growing on me. That brass section, the main part of it, really has that "hummable" iconic quality to it.

Yeah the moment where it becomes silent and then you hear the horns go is definitely the more memorable sequence of the main theme.

That's not really the main theme. It's kind of a b-theme of sorts, but it's not the theme that plays over the main title or closing scene of the film. The main theme is shorter but more heroic sounding. It can be heard in one of the featurettes (and about 16 minutes into that soundcloud link).

I would go as far as to say the Avengers theme is the best of all comic book movies, although Riami Spiderman also had a good one

The theme is perfect. The moment when the Avengers finally assemble and that theme is booming is incredible
