Avengers the Initiative

So issue 20 is $4 according to Diamond, even though it's been solicited for $3. Does anyone know if this is another freakin' $4 ongoing or if it's just this one issue?

You're right Corp, they should have talked it out! Reasonable discussion always wins wars.
Maybe they should have gotten Dora the Explorer to say "Invaders no Invading"
then the Skrulls would have just said "Aw man" and gone home.

I really dug that Crusader/3D Man/Skrull Kill Krew storyline. Definitely top notch stuff and glad that Dan Slott is still attached to this book because his ideas really come through the pages. He really made 3D Man bad ass and it was good to see someone pick up on that Crusader character I had completely forgot about that character.

And dug the cameo by the Great Lakes Avengers. Good stuff!

Why the hell did Delroy just Shot Crusader like that? I understand that Crusader was a really a Skrull, and he hadn't told the truth yet, but come on, the guy just stopped SkrullowJacket and saved the whole world.

I dont think the Initiative is being cancelled. Maybe their is just ginna be a name change or something.

Thunderbolts: The Initiative or The HAMMER Initiative

The Initiative is one of, if not my favorite comic book. Their is really no reason why The Initiative would be cancelled.

Heh. So if you like it, it can't be canceled? I hope you like Iron Fist and Captain Britain...:hehe:

Thats not what I was saying. What I'm saying is that, ATI has had great writing, it's had great art, great continuity, goog numbers, so their is NO reason to cancel The Initiative. It just so happens that The Initiative is one of, if not my favorite comic book. I know you know what I meant, but go ahead and be a smart-as.

Well, there's a big status quo shift after Secret Invasion and Avengers: The Initiative is sort of dependent on the previous, post-Civil War, pre-SI status quo, so that's a reason. Although I think it'll just evolve to fit in with the new status quo, not get canceled.

Especially since it still sells a good 40-50k per issue or more, within the Top 35 or better. No reason to cut a good selling title.

Just saying, even titles with solid numbers get canceled if they don't fit in with regime or status quo changes. I doubt it'll happen to A:TI, but it could.

In a similar method isn't that kind of why the Batman spin-off books were cancelled or were they just selling bad? I don't follow DC's sales as I don't currently read DC.

It at least won't happen for the next few issues at least. It was solicted through March and Gage should have at least another trade or two solo, which may be 6-10 issues.

DC's editorial decisions also run counter to human logic.

I'm pretty sure Batgirl's comic was canceled because DiDio didn't like her, not for sales. Her series was selling better than Nightwing's when it went under, I believe. The status quo shift after RIP has a lot to do with Nightwing, Robin, and BoP's cancellations as well, I'm sure, although I don't know whether their sales were bad as well.

On another board someone speculated that Mutant X is Typhoid Mary. Quite possible...

[BLACKOUT]So, that guy on that other board was right. I never bought the Jean Gray stuff. She's no kick ass martial artist type.[/BLACKOUT]

MoralDeficiency really got me into the Copycat idea. I would've loved it if it were her.

Apparently. Wikipedia calls her a mutant in the powers section of her page but I dont know how new that addition is to the page
