Avengers the Initiative

No, the moral of his fights with the X-Men was, "Quit letting your helmet get chopped off around telepaths." :)

It usually took teamwork to get that helmet off. :o

The point was that superhero teams are always beating powerful enemies with proper teamwork. I mean, the New Warriors took on Terrax in their first issue, who was hardly a slouch.

Like Dread said, Clor ain't Thor. He's as close to Thor's classic power level as super-science can make him, so he's close, but no cigar.

Then you, as the resident Thor ****e who hates Thor getting beat by the Hulk shouldn't want his "close but no cigar" clone getting beat by a bunch of snot nosed punks.:p

Plus, a powerful character is one thing, but an unbeatable character is just boring. I've always liked that Thor had plenty of challenges. The New Warriors team presented in A:TI may not seem like a huge one to Clor, but I think they could pull out a win with good teamwork. I'd say it'd be awesome if Thor could intervene at the end, but we know Clor's gonna wind up in Thor's comic anyway, so why rush it?

I've just been messing around. Obviously they are going to beat him...somehow.

Justice: Debrii, pelt him with little bits of crap! Slapstick, annoy him! While he's distracted, Night Thrasher hit him in the shins with your little stick!

Night Thrasher: Screw you punk! I'm the leader now!

If I was Juggernaut I'd keep one hand on my helmet to keep it on at all times when fighting X-teams.
It may look ridiculous but who cares? I could just smash anyone who notices.

Plus it'd mean you'd get to brag about beating the X-men with one hand.

Regarding the Clor vs. NW fight: How skilled with his teke is Justice when it comes to small intricate stuff?

Cause, Clor being a clone/cyborg/evil robot type deal he's probably outside of the "no killing" zone right? and a telekinetic wedge with an atom-width edge on it could probably f*** Clor right up.

Justice's telekenesis is usually very fine. He can use it for blunt force, barricades, and picking apart fine objects (he can disarm a gunman without harming them); because he developed his powers in his youth, he is better at it than his GOTG counterpart Vance Astro/Major Victory, who could only use it for blunt attacks. He can make TK tendrils and even use his TK to tell if someone is lying if they lie within one of his barricades. So, yeah, Justice should be doing more than just shooting beams from his head. :p

So some telekinetic slicing and dicing is within his abilities then? That oughta be enough to take Clor on.

Telekinesis is a damn scary power in the right hands.

The question is whether his TK can even breach Clor's skin to affect his robotic parts. Remember, he's wearing Thor's skin, which can stand up to pretty much anything from the heat and pressure of the sun to punches from the Hulk.
Then you, as the resident Thor ****e who hates Thor getting beat by the Hulk shouldn't want his "close but no cigar" clone getting beat by a bunch of snot nosed punks.:p
It's not Thor getting beat by the Hulk that I have a problem with, it's Thor always getting beat by the Hulk after acting like a complete ****** in every single fight with him. The dude has at least a dozen powers between himself and Mjolnir, yet all we ever see him do in a Hulk fight is try (and usually fail) to bash Hulk in the head with his hammer. :o

Besides, I like these snot-nosed punks. :oldrazz:

I like that the Scarlet Spiders stuck around with counter-force. I thought they had some potential to be cool characters.

I thought it was weird that the writer would write out Gargoyle and Stingray when they are hurting for counsellors and those 2 have been background characters since issue 1

The Scarlet Spiders are a good addition the Warriors. They already have a thematic tie to the team, as well, given that Ben Reilly was a card-carrying New Warrior during his Scarlet Spider days.

Well at least one of the Loners is gonna be busy in outer space.

I wonder what's gonna wind up happening with Prodigy. I doubt he's gonna happily go back to a cell or stay on probation.

Yea, thats cool for Darkhawk. Im more concerned with seeing Ricochet doing something other than pretend he doesnt want to be a hero.

He wont go back to a cell. They'll probably retrain him (with that other girl, forget her name) or put him under Gauntlets direct supervision and he'll end up a counselor or something

Well since Prodigy is in the book there is an easy excuse for Ricochet to appear.

They weren't enemies, either. I'm sure Ritchie would be happy to see Johnny.

No they werent enemies, but I doubt they'd go out for coffee. You dont have to like the people you work with (technically) which is why I said maybe. Its definitely valid, but in reality I dont think the 2 would get together except for extenuating circumstances

I thought it was odd that Batwing made it to Shadow Initiative. He doesnt seem the type. Prodigy I could see going their, but not Batwing.

I don't think they'd be going out for beers either, but the way they left things at the end of the Slingers series, the main characters were all on good terms with each other. Joining a new team would be appropriate circumstances for them to meet up, too.

It's a good way of keeping the Scarlet-Spider name in the New Warrior family, since Ben Reily was a member of The New Warriors, and they are clones.

Also, I pretty sure we'll still see Stingray since he's the leader of the Point Men. I wonder if they have any plans for Gargoyle? Maybe he could be part of the Agents of Atlas.

They could always pull the "enemy from their shared past" or something. Just that they've worked together a lot before can be used as a valid excuse to have them team up again. They dont have to like each other.

In fact reading about characters who dont like each other working on the same side, can be more interesting/entertaining than when they're buddies.

I'm with TheCorpulent1 about Thor vs. Hulk. It reminds me of SPIDER-MAN VS. WOLVERINE in a way, or some of the fights they've had where Wolverine always gets Spidey to a draw...mainly because Spidey is too dumb to try webbing or distance attacks. It's because if he did, he usually would school Logan, kind of like if Thor actually got creative with Hulk. But a lot of times comic book fights are akin to wrestling; popularity and story convenience matter more than logical sense or fighter attributes.

Clor is tough, but Hercules did cave his skull in with one attack; granted, he used the technological hammer as a blunt object to do so.

Frankly, if the story calls for Justice being able to hurt Clor with his TK, he will be able to. The guy was an Avenger, and it would come a long way for him. Of course, I don't expect him to beat Clor alone; teamwork is where it is at.

Ultra-Girl, at least according to covers, may have to ditch her Ms. Marvel costume (even if she still was going by Ultra-Girl). She and Vance broke up because she chose to stay with the Initiative (and was leading Stark's creepy version of the boy scouts, which Vance opposed), but who knows. She was Vance's rebound after being engaged to Angelica.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind Slapstick getting a moment. He's virtually indestructible, and he can use electricity to add to his mass. He'll probably just be the bouncy funny guy, though.

As for Prodigy's fate, who knows? He spent time in 42 before being broken out by the Secret Avengers at the end of CW but accepted registration after Cap's surrender anyway. He was cajoled into doing a public apology and wasn't thrilled with the program to begin with. I don't see any of the Loners moving to the East Coast, but who knows. He and Johnny were associates but they probably would need some sort of dramatic circumstance to seek each other out. Perhaps Prodigy helps during the Clor francas and wins some administration trust. Considering Prodigy joined the team in Gage's last solo issue (where Boulder/Butterball debuted), I would be surprised if he was dismissed right as Gage took over long term.

Gargoyle can't be part of the Agents of Atlas. It wouldn't make sense from any perspective.
