I don't think so...we'll see Hope become the new phoenix...there will be no need to bring back Jean

Hah. "Need" very seldom has anything to do with bringing back Jean Grey.

Marvel Editor: Hey guys, guess what? It's Tuesday. Let's bring Jean back!

More like "Lets troll her fans again and let them think she is coming back"

Editor:"Hey its tuesday lets put out a teaser that makes people thing Jean is coming back and then have it be the Original Thunderbird."

I want Jean to come back without the Phoenix Force so she can be headmistress of the school named after her, but I still like the codename Phoenix for her.

Id love it if she returned to finally put the Phoenix fragments together, make it whole and put that thing to rest once and for all..

i say she becomes the phoenix again and instead of putting it away she has to learn to deal with it

Why does she need to become Phoenix again whens he already is? Whats there to learn to deal with? She already did that before she left

She can deal with it for as long as writers allow her to deal with it. Jean has been turning back into the Phoenix off and on for years, but there was literally only one time where she lost control of it with disastrous results. And that only happened because of an external force screwing her up.

Basically, Phoenix-Jean is like the Hulk. She always does good and nobody ever gets hurt unless someone else wrests control from her.

because its gonna happen so the only way to break the cycle is to go full blown phoenix like they did with Rachel....i don't think anyone was waiting for Rachel to die and be reborn like Jean

If Jean does come back, I agree they need to get her and the PF separated for good. It's become a crutch for her as a character.

What does full blown Phoenix like Rachel mean? I dont see how she wasnt "full blown Phoenix" in the stories since New X-men and the last time we saw her

I just read issue two. I love Bendis writing as usual, except for the narration. What's up with that? But, even though JRJ is one of my favorite artists, his art seemed strangely off this issue. That's too bad.

Otherwise, great fights, great dialogue, and the best Iron Man we've seen in years.

This is the first time I think I've seen Scott act... maybe a bit too far in the Magneto direction though. And I've been a defender of his new direction. One of my favorite lines was one I thought was the most off "We were always the ugly stepchildren." Ermm... you always felt that way? Maybe. Just seemed a dim note to me. But people can say weird things in the heat of the moment.

Fantastic, self-aware one-liners include: "You're the strongest one there is on Utopia? I'm the strongest one there is. Period." "Wow. This is actually happening."

And best of all...

"If you think you know how this is going to end, you don't know Iron Man."

Bendis didnt write this book

I would like that very much. As long as keep her interesting. Then we could have Jean and Wolvie babies. ;)

What? Yes, Bendis wrote it. I mean... I didn't look, but he wrote issue #1 (co-plotted with the others) and they said it was going to be Bendis/JRJ for the first four months, then Matt Fraction/someone else, etc.

Anyway, count me in the "bring Jean Back" camp. I love her and have always loved her--but have it be in a way that progresses both her and Scott's characters the way Betty's return as Red She Hulk did.

Um I suggest you actually go back to the book and read the name on the front cover.

If Jean comes back...

-I want her at her normal power levels..TP & TK...and cut off from Phoenix for good

-Resolve her relationships with Scott and Logan...maybe have the three of them have to save a country or stop a threat all the while dealing with where they stand with each other.

-I'd give her a mini-series where her character would travel throughout the Marvel Universe to see where she best fits

-Get her a new love interest

Its too bad they killed Warren off and Remender really solidifed his relationship with Betsy, bc Ive always loved the idea of Jean with him.

OR we can stop playing with the boring old tryst of theirs and try to defy Jean Grey by something other than the man she's with. [/Male Feminism]

There's always room for her in the Future Foundation.

:D
