Batman: Arkham Asylum

Yeah, that was a little silly, but it's one of those aspects of super hero fiction that you kind of have to overlook sometimes

didnt he use the formula oracle created to stop it??? pretty sure he did, as joker laughed that he wasted it on himself

I think he meant before that in the little lair place. Joker shot him with it, and it kind of implied that Batman fought it off or was overly resisting that shot of Venom or something.

I mean..it is the god damned batman...

the only thing about the story I hated was there weren't really repercussions for letting certain people die, that were randomly hanging etc. As well bosses, really need more thought into the boss battles. Ivy was the closest imo to feeling epic, and well, that wasn't that epic.

Yeah, Croc's was pretty stupid. The first time or two it was kind of cool, but they totally ran it into the ground. It's like they all the fights had some idea behind them, but they never really worked to develop those ideas in the game
Croc's surprised me. I figured you'd get all your samples and then Croc would grab them and you'd have to actually have a boss battle to get them back or something. But no, Bats just runs out and blows Croc up. Missed opportunity there.

This is what I was hoping it was building up to...but no go. It kind of bummed me out, so I took my frustration out on some goons just right outside the door.

Yeah, even though most of the boss battles failed to be really engaging, it's probably more fun to fight random people in this game than any other in recent memory. :awesome:

That's exactly what happened.

perhaps my memory sucks
but the last time I saw that formula it got knocked away from him during the Poison Ivy battle, and then it was implied later that he used it to "fix" Venom Joker, etc. But batman never used it on himself. Joker just shot him with it, then shot himself I dont think? Did he? Maybe he tried but the vile broke, and then you fought Venom Joker and his goons.

I think that's how it went down too (although I didn't watch the cutscenes after my first time through the game, so I could be wrong). Remember, that's not even the first time Batman defies chemical changes simply because he's Batman, either. The Scarecrow mentions he gave Batman enough fear toxin to incapacitate ten men, yet Bruce just shrugs it off for no apparent reason.

It actually changes. I've seen it both ways when I played through on normal it was him using the formula on himself and last night on hard it happened the way you mentioned it.

I love the Riddler's commentary as you go. "What?! You've solved half of my riddles? Who's helping you?! You can't be doing this on your own!" :funny:

Yea, Riddler accused me of cheating last night, and I laughed at that.

It's really saddening that after all of this Riddler stuff I won't get to see him. :(

I was disappointed that he wouldn't physically appear in the game as well, but the way they implemented him was so fun that, after playing through it, I didn't mind. The payoff for him is satisfying and, honestly, keeping him as just a voice in your earpiece allows him to remain engaged in the story throughout the game in ways the other villains can't. I mean, you go through your Poison Ivy section and your Harley Quinn section and your Killer Croc section and then you don't really see or think of them anymore. But the Riddler's always got the potential to be there, waiting to be snarky and hilarious after you solve any of his riddles or pick up any of his trophies. :awesome:

Heh, someone posted that earlier. Good stuff, but I'm confused about what the "THUNK!" is supposed to be.

at first I had thought it was from them hitting him in th head when he was trying to pry the grate off, then I realized they were actually in the duct, and then the "THUNK" made much less sense...

As far as I can tell, Batman pries the grate off, climbs into the vent, and the villains sneak up behind him and take a funny picture around his ass.

Meh, complete missed oppurtunity to draw Harley with HUGE boobies:o

"Hey bats, you like my new outfit?"

HOT!

Harley's boobs look like they're above-average anyway. How much bigger did you want them? Dolly Parton huge?

No not like that. I should of said more cleavage. In the strip you only see 1/2 of her right bewb, come on!

Batman gets stuck to the vent, thats the joke. :)
