The demo was a blast to play. This is going to quite easily be the most enjoyable Batman game ever sold. Two quick comments

1.) The fighting mechanics are fantastic. The counters, the moves, everything is fluid and realistiic in terms of hand to hand combat.
2.) THe graphics are every bit as good as advertised. Gorgeous game.

THe demo is a blast to play, but it's very short. Dont expect to go more than 15 minutes before finishing it.

The demo just got me so much more pumped for the game!Loved everything about it.Graphics,Music,Voice acting and gameplay were all awesome!

^Thanks for that Kez.

I had the S.E. preordered, but cancled once I found out the Batarang was changed from metal to plastic.

I just don't know what system to get this for....I don't really care about the Joker maps or whatever so I suppose it will come down to the final review between the two.

The Batarang was never metal, it was plastic.

Demo is up for XBL gold members, I'm at 5 percent in about 5 minutes.

That's what I thought to, I was just getting used to 1 gig demos.

One thing im certain of is that my 360 is heaps faster than my PS3. It took me about an hour to download the demo on the PSN and its coming up at around 30 minutes for the 360 download.

Damn, I'm only at 60 percent after an hour or so.

My connection isn't the best, but it's better than what some of the other people are reporting.

Yea my connection at my parents house is pretty good(even better at my condo up at school), most downloads around 1 gig takes about 20-30 minutes on my 360. My PS3 on the other hand, takes forever. I was shocked this demo only took an hour to DL on it.

The character models are the best I have seen on the unreal engine, including mass effect, don't like Gordon model much though, or his voice. The animations seem kind abit off also at times. The game seems decent, didn't turn my world upside down or anything, pretty good though.

I cant believe we finally have a great Batman game. Damn its been a loooong time coming.

This demo is aweosme as hell.

They weren't kidding about the guards being random as hell, sometimes I'm stuck waiting for them to break away from the group for a couple minutes.

As for the soundtrack, I noticed 2 different motifs, one is reminiscent of Elfman's work on the TAS, and the other is clearly inspired from TDK. The horns during the hospital scene to be as specific as possible.

i cant play the demo, but i can imagine it...and WHY no soundtrack again? :csad::csad:

I d/led the demo, I liked it. I've slowly built up an interest in this game and it's shaping up to be pretty awesome. I think it's the voices that did it for me, it was nice to hear the old crew again.

I still think the gargoyles are a bit silly. I get that it's part of the architecture, but there are like 8 in each room. Why couldn't some of them just be beams or poles or something? "You know what this storage room needs? 7 more gargoyles."

I like sitting up on a gargoyle and sniping thugs with batarangs.

Hearing them grunt and grown after getting kneecapped repeatedly is hilarious.

Arkham used to be a victorian era house, with heavy gothic design influences. So at the time they weren't going "This mental hospital needs more gargoyles" they were going "we're a family of insane people, this room needs more gargoyles." Also, it's Gotham, everything is hyper-gothic there.

But anyway, loved the demo. This game went from a "maybe when it's used" to a "day one, might get the special edition" for me. I love all the little touches, like the "hitchhikers may be escaped inmates" sign at the beginning. And Harley's new outfit is HOT.

Has there been a picture of the Riddler released yet, by the way?

From what I understand, Riddler is just this outside entity that contacts you every once in a while, as evidence by some of the Riddler trophies spread throughout the demo.

I don't think we see him inside the game in the flesh.

But his cell was one of the first things they showed

Yeah, and he's left behind hundreds of little riddles to solve, who knows, perhaps after you solve them all he appears.

It was talked about awhile ago in interviews, but it must not have been anything substantial seeing as I can't remember it and I've been watching this game like a hawk since the first magazine came out.
