Batman: Arkham Asylum

The textures are a little bit sharper on the 360, I've found, since the PS3 uses its own anti-aliasing method that tends to blur lines a bit. But it's barely noticeable. I have AA on PS3 and it looks fantastic.

Sounds good. Looks like this will be my first PS3 game then :yay:

Prepare to enjoy yourself immensely. :)

Thank you good sir. I'm mostly just looking forward to hearing the animated characters voices once again after all this time. :D

I reserve the right to gripe about a certain final boss battle though, as I know I'm going to hate it even before going into it. :o

I didn't mind it. It would've been stupid in the comics, but this is just a video game.

Are you getting a PS3 for it or did you have one and just hadn't bought any games for it yet?

I really don't have a problem with the ending to this game cause the Joker will do just about anything to get the bat. In the graphic novel Emperor Joker he ruled the universe by stealing Mr. Mxlwhateevvvvvvver his name powers. He doesn't actively look for greater power but he will take it for on occasion to play out some sick joke of his.

I've unlocked all challenges, all riddles, all trophies, completed the game etc. etc. etc. I've beaten all but 1 of the challenges...and I'm only at 91%...

Can anyone explain?

Also, the Amedeus tombstones... there is one missing, but I solved all the riddles? Does that make any sense, considering they count as riddles?

You have to play the challenges and receive medals for completing goals. With the combat challenges, it depends on a high score. With predator challenges, it depends on determined tasks you need to complete without dying.

REALLY! ahhhh rattled... I figured that was the reason...it's almost impossible on some...lol...

Yes you did, reread what you wrote.
No, I really didn't. I was pointing out that it would upset me if the final boss situation happened in the comics because the comics are the source material. It doesn't bother me in a video game because video game adaptations of comic characters are inherently derivative and liberties are obviously going to be taken. How you arrived at the conclusion that I was saying "nothing outlandish happens in comics" from that is entirely beyond me.

I don't think the ending is as bad as some of you guys make it out to be :S

I just got done playing the game and it was pretty dang awsome! I didn't like the end that much a bit anticlimactic if you ask me. I didn't mind it enough to make it tarnish my perception of the game though.

Nah, I figured it'd happen. Video games pull that kind of stuff all the time.

Dev 1: We need a boss for the last battle but we've run out of ideas!
Dev 2: Uh... [blackout]Why don't we just take one of the other bosses and make 'em bigger?[/blackout]
Dev 1: Genius!

I like how they parodied this in The Matrix: Path of Neo by changing the end of the Revolutions fight to Ultra Mega Smith.

Just beat it. A total blast from start to finish, I can see how some would find the final boss underwhelming, but Arkham Asylum seemed like a much deeper game than most. The emphasis seemed more based on story than big boss fights. I thought that was refreshing. Regarding the end I do wish to say that Kevin Conroy was especially good
delivering the line "I will never let you win Joker."

Okay, so has anyone figured out what is up with Amedeus?

I have one more spot open for a tombstone thingy...but, I've already completed all the riddles.

Also, what is the ???? trophy?

Amadeus' spirit has migrated to someone in the Asylum in the present. The last Spirit of Arkham message is reserved for when you figure out who. :)

REAAAAAAAALLLY????

That is crazy, if you know...which I'm sure you do.

Can you tell me this: Is it someone who you have already encountered?

--dk7

Yes, indeed. Listen to the Spirit of Arkham recordings again, particularly the last few. There are some clues in them.

All I'm missing is 4 teeth in the Arkham Mansion I've gone through every inch of the place twice:cmad:

In the warden's office, there is a second floor that is sorta hidden if your never look up when you enter the office. Those were the last three that were driving me crazy. I had to ask a friend where they were since I'd been everywhere else.

In the penatentary (im sure that is spelled wrong) there is the guard office thing in the middle of the room that has clayface. The last tombstone scan thing is in there.
