Batman: Arkham Asylum

Playing this just makes me crave a well done Daredevil game. It's obviously the detective mode which could easily substitute the radar vision and tracking clues by scent and such. I'm a DD fan as much as I am a Batman fan and I'm surprised the parallels never appeared to me before. Plus that fighting engine would be great to use against Hand ninjas or street thugs in a hell's kitchen environment as grimey as Arkham island itself.

...Can companies sue for ripping off an entire style of gameplay? Cause I'd be all for it. :woot:
I've been longing for a Daredevil game since 2004, when advertisements first started appearing in Marvel books for a story that would be told in the same vain as the Spider-Man game for PS1. The company went bankrupt before it could be finished, though. :(

There's even a video on youtube.

Comercials in the back of comics and everything. Got me hyped. :csad:

That was a hell of a trailer, it reminded me a lot of the Spider-Man game for PS1 an N64. What a shame it would of been a lot of fun to play as Daredevil in his own game

finally beat it on hard. are leaderboard scores transferable between games? I got higher scores on the hard game than my normal.

Just a quick question guys, I noticed yesterday that one of the achievements you get is for gliding over a distance of 100 metres or more. I'm planning on getting this one next, and although I haven't really tried at all as of now, I suppose that there is a particular ledge or rooftop somewhere on the island that allows you to get the achivement quite simply.

So here's the question : Do you guys recommend any particular area to glide from? Maybe after you exit the Batcave the second time and have to go from a rocky formation to another? Or when you exit the pump control room and are back to the surface?

Go to the top of the Arkham Mansion and glide down you'll get it easily

Does anyone know what exactly the "Mind Your Head" bonus is in the "Silent Knight" challenge room???

Im doing cleanup on the last riddles I have left in the caves...anyone know how to get back into the pump control area?? its security gated off, but there is an elevator shaft that drops down there, but I dont know from which building and one door from Arkham west I cant get to....

If you use Detective Mode to track the orange wires, the terminal is through the corridor you come through to get to the sealed off door, I think.

Look for vents, I just got all 240/240 riddles last night.

Now, just for all the challenges...

I really wish this game had REAL unlockables...more suits anybody? Hopefully DLC is on its way, because else this game is relatively short to collect everything, and do everything. I'll be able to return it, and at least get some $$ back and still have all achievements and have this game 100% completed..

I did the follow the wires back to the old sewer access...maybe I missed them....Ill go back and check later...I just need the 3 in that area and 2 more in the caves and all the riddles are done

After you've come out of the pump control room, the only way to go back in there is to go all the way around (exact same way you used to get to the pump control room in the first place, through the huge room where your grapnel gun wouldn't attach to the old walls and you had to climb your way up).

So you have to go back to the Batcave or Intensive Treatment, then get into the sewers. There you'll find a door leading to that huge room I mentioned, and after climbing your way up it once again, you'll get into the pump control rooms, and you'll be able to deactivate the security doors.

How many of you used Riddler's maps to find the riddles/trophies? I'm currently torturing myself but trying to find them all on my own.

I used the maps, although the vast majority of them aren't hard to find at all. My favorites were the actual riddles and the "match up the bits of the question mark" things. Of course, if you're actually hunting Riddler stuff, it's kind of annoying because you have to stay in detective mode virtually all the time. I think I only took off detective mode my first time through for fights, since all the blue obscures the counter warnings.

I haven't gotten mine in the mail yet...but is it really that hard of a game. There have been some here that post a question every hour or so. :???:

Hulkster, how was the parental visit?

Not a difficult game. Finding some of the riddles and other items are a bit challenging but the gameplay itself is pretty intuitive and generally pushes you in the directions you need to go. I think a certain few that come here just dont want to use their brains.

Parental visit was fine. Although B:AA was mocking me the whole time from the drawer it was sitting in. I no sooner pushed them out the door on Monday and then popped the game in.

The game's pretty easy, to be honest. Hard makes fighting more of a challenge--the regular thugs lose their counter warnings and the bosses can kill you with ease if you mess up following even one part of their pattern. But the story progresses very logically and the gameplay's very intuitive.

Yeah the question mark riddles were great, same for the villain related ones.
The Penguin riddle actually took me awhile until I remembered the picture and went back to find it and made the connection with the "North" bit. :p

I also missed the Ratcatcher riddle at first due to speeding through the airvent and then thinking that it was impossible to find before retracing my steps at a slower pace.
And yeah, remaining in detective mode at all times was a bit annoying. I'm at 220 with the riddles and still need 4 of the "Spirit of Gotham" stories.

"Son, are trying to kick us out?"

"Um...no dad of course not...well....buhbye!" *SLAM!*

:hehe:

Well, I had taken a few days off of playing this and ruled some of the freeflow challenges. I was 8,000 points short of the 50,000 I needed for Rumble In The Jungle (Extreme). What really makes me mad is when I've got a really high combo and I'll be in the process of jumping over someone and this little punk can ass punch me in mid air and I lose my combo ticker. So annoying.

Other than that though when I do really good I feel like a complete bad ass.

I have 3 riddles left and all 3 are Joker teeth and son-of-a-b**** they are hard to find. Anyone else get stuck on finding the rest of the Joker teeth? I swear whenever I see them I break them and never let one live.
